The sad part is average Americans still have not felt the full brunt of trump.Although the stock market is doing okay, Middle America is having problems with rising costs and less jobs. Trump's hiding the numbers by firing competent people researching them only makes things look worse than they are since Middle America is learning they can't trust Trump's claims.
The Great Recession ended in June 2009, a little over a year after it began, but Middle America didn't "feel" the recovery until 3 years later. This was one reason why Obama almost lost the 2012 election. Americans want results, not promises. So far, Trump has only produced promises, not results that can be felt by Middle Americans.

You could be. I think much of the "Big Beautiful Bill" doesn't start until this year, including the tax cuts. It will be interesting to see if they timed it well enough to overcome the vote deficit that would happen today. I will say that insurance costs increased manifold after the Covid subsidies expired, if they do nothing at all I do not think they'll win.
