there is no debating the rules of the quote box altering rule.
I'm against the policy myself.
but until we all evolve, I'm sometimes reduced to co-opting shithead methods to deal with the shitheads.
Except that when @Damocles explained it - he specifically used changing the name as an allowable means of changing backquotes.
Oh, and I agree that it should not be allowed. It could be turned off at the forum software level.

And when I changed platforms I noted that since it is difficult to change the name on this board it is acceptable to use FTFY instead.
