Why did Biden fail to prosecute Trump for insurrection?

A profound failure of President Biden to execute his duties.
99% of the blame is on Merrick Garland.

He seems to have the right temperament to be a judge and would have likely made a good SC Justice but he was absolutely the wrong guy to be AG or any top prosecutor.

He was the most political person possible in that job, ironic as i think be believed he would be perceived as not political by not immediately prosecuting Trump.

But one day after being sworn in to office he should have been on TV announcing he was putting multiple Special Prosecutors to investigate each elements of Trumps crimes. He had both the House and Senate Leaders saying at the point that Donald Trump was responsible and should be held to account and Trump had not yet rallied any allies.

- another for the Jan 6th riot coordination, from Roger Stone to others

Even with a full 4 years many of those would have struggled to get thru the courts before the next election and Garland knows that, so that is why it was his biggest failing.

Yes. Now answer this question: Who does Garland work for?
you want the Magat answer or the way it was actually structured and worked during his term?

During his term he worked for the American people, while being subordinate to Biden on the org chart, who theoretically could have taken control but refused to.

Magats will tell you he was Biden puppet who like any good puppet, as with Trump's AG, investigated him the POTUS and his family (his son).

Oh wait that only happened under Biden and not Trump.

The AG is not a public office and does not get elected. So, the AG REPORTS to the US President.

Yes i pointed that out.

But many POTUS, prior to Trump, gave the AG arms length independence from any direct control by them.

That is something they have the option to do and to let them know instead they are to consider that they 'serve the people'.
