How the hell can the kid be "abandoned" but be picked up from school by his father, of whom ICE idiots IGNORE is ongoing legal status to arrest?

They didn't arrest him. That's blather. They protected a child that the mother would not care for even when asked.

Let's say I've broken the law. Then I pick my child up from school. I get pulled over, they spot the warrant, I get arrested. They take my child home to his mother but she refuses to take him in... It's -4 Fahrenheit outside... In the world of Desh do they just leave the kid standing in the street or do they take him to the station and call child protective services?
