She had every legal right to express her disagreement with ICE. Attacking her was the only bad decision.
So if you see a child not at school, you have the right to attack her? Maybe it is a school holiday? Maybe she has a doctor's appointment? Maybe she is older than she looks? Maybe she is homeschooled?
If she were extremely young, then maybe ask her whether her parents know where she is. She was not that young, so probably should have just been ignored.
