Ouch, Tariffs out!

They are all still available, just in a different form. The SC ruling just laid out a legal different path for him to take, and I support their decision.
He does have a legal path, he should have used it the first time. The legal path, however is 150 days, then Congressional Approval is required.

I am okay with him using a legal path, my objection to this path was the same as the S.Ct., it was a usurpation of power.

Not until the SC deemed it so.
Thanks to their ruling, Trump now has a clear path.

The way the PP did this was always unconstitutional. If I knew that, his people must have.

The “other” ways are very restrictive, but they have always been constitutional.

I don't understand how business owners are set to sue the federal government and demand "refunds" on the tariffs they had to pay?? These are the exact same motherfuckers that voted this bitch in the first place, and now they want to sue??? If anybody should be suing the federal government, ITS THE GOTDAMN CONSUMERS. No business in the nation has ever and I mean ever absorbed the cost and took one for the team, they always pass that shit onto consumers and now they want to sue?? Sue for what??

Nope... they are a tax on importers.
They are a cost for the American producers/retailers. They are not magical costs and like all costs the seller calculated them in before applying their profit margin.

In all instances, 100%, the consumer is paying them in the item costs. No way around that.

Nope... they are a tax on importers.

And when the importers increase their prices to cover the cost, which in turn causes the retailers and end sellers to increase their prices to the consumer.....

.....what are they then?

Besides, I always thought you conservative MAGA types were against taxes, fees and added expenses of any kind especially those imposed by the government.

So why do you just brush them aside as nothing when trump does it?

This doesn't happen. What happens is exporters/importers eat the tariff cost (which minimally affects their profit margin). It really hasn't been getting passed onto the consumer. They can also start making their product in the USA; then their tariff rate is 0%.

I'm against many taxes/fees, but there's some that I'm okay with.

I've never had any issue with tariffs. They are very good/useful and are beneficial to the USA.

That would not last forever. They've held off passing on the costs because they know trump is so unpredictable his policies can change at the drop of a hat and turn on a dime.

But if the tariffs were left in place long term, eventually they'd have to pass the costs on to the retailers who would pass them on to the consumer.

It's just basic business 101.

Importers don't make products, Einstein. They import products made overseas in foreign countries

Are you suggesting that every foreign company should shut down their manufacturing facilities and move them to the US???

Puh -lease.

And even if it were remotely possible, that would still be as bad as or worse than a tariff give the costs associated with moving/rebuilding and the vastly increased labor cost.

Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

Most of the countries in question are smaller countries with much smaller economies than ours and as such, their manufacturing base is more prone to feel the effects of lost revenue due to sales of American made products replacing sales of their own products than vice versa.

There is no one size fits all rationale for what is necessary for one country vs another.

watching you retards pretend some forms of taxation is less of a burden on the net losers of life than others

you are too fucking dumb to know that an inflation tax is just as regressive as a tariff

There's no such thing as an "inflation tax".

Inflation and its effects are not official government policies that are put in place and removed at will.

Inflation is caused by outside factors and as such, there is very little that can be done in the short term, to control it.

Using inflation as a justification for tariffs is what is truly the ramblings of a retard.

this is what your masters want you to think

they have you as a ward of the state. you live under a horribly regressive tax - and argue it isn't a tax at all

meanwhile, they use it to fund pretty much everything that happens in this day and age.

True, but many large countries make it impossible for US products to be sold in, say, China, where our trade imbalance is off the chart. Much of Europe is the same.

At least this gives the PP a way out.

These Tariffs were strangling America, now they are done.

S. Ct. rules Trump tried to exceed his authority, AGAIN.

As I have said was true in the past.

@FastLane
This post, as all your posts do, didn't age well. But alas, stupid dishonest people don't even know they are dishonest and stupid.

The reasons for trade imbalances are so complex and intertwined even the experts who make their living analyzing it cannot come to an agreement, so discussing it here would accomplish nothing.

I will say that trump's heavy-handed tariffs were not only not the answer, but would have likely made things worse by sparking retaliatory tariffs and starting a trade war.

Radical actions are rarely if ever the answer to anything.
