Paxton is a corrupt and unrepentant adulterer. It would be easier for Talarico to beat him than Cornyn.

Not that Republicans would flip Democrat, but that many would simply not vote for either. The Independents would vote Talarico.

That's the best way to shore up the Republican position in Texas. Maybe Trump can tweet that he's making Paxton the assistant to Kristi as the Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas?
