The Trump administration is preparing an economic deal with Cuba that could be announced soon, two sources with knowledge of the administration’s plans said.

The details of the prospective deal and exact timing are not known. But an agreement could include a relaxation on Americans' ability to travel to Havana. Trump would not need Congress’ approval to loosen those types of restrictions.

Discussions have included an off ramp for President Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Castro family remaining on the island and deals on ports, energy and tourism. The U.S. government has floated dropping some sanctions.

I wouldn't bet on it. With Vietnam, it was the draft that got opposed. Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., didn't raise much if any opposition outside the Left that opposes everything and anything not on the Left, often violently.

Same thing here. If the US invades Iraq, so long as there is no general draft the general public won't give a shit. Sure, the same batch of radical Leftist assholes that rooted for Hamas and Hezbollah will riot on college campuses and such but that won't change anything. If anything, the more they wave Iranian flags and call for the death of Israel and that sort of thing, the more people will both think they're insane and oppose them.

For the Democrats, an Iraq invasion is, at best, a marginal issue to win elections on with the caveat that casualties are low and there is no draft involved. The general public won't particularly care if it isn't inconveniencing them. $5 a gallon gas with your electric bill doubling because of wind and solar would do more to turn people against your political position than a foreign war being fought by a volunteer military.
 
Trump is all over the fuckin place making deals that will no doubt benefit his fuckin family, while this nation is in shamble economically. While Data centers are popin up all over America to someday replace our work force with AI bots, while millionaires are turning into billionaires over night and Trump now a Trillionaire....when does the American ppl come first in all this shit, Trump?

This one won't either. Iran has shit for an army. Sure, against Saddam's Iraqi army they could hold their own, barely. Against the US, they'll get their dicks stomped in the dirt in a matter of days. All they have for retaliation are bottle rockets and model airplanes.

Has anyone talked to the Cubans about this? We cant be sure as for ages people have been rambling on about deals to bring peace to Ukraine without talking to the Russians.
