Rational discourse has been tried to no avail. Attempting to reason with him does not work. It does not matter how mountainous the evidence to the contrary that is provided to him, his delusion's grip on his mind cannot be broken.

While trying to defend his religion, @AProudLefty once blurted out that he has a degree in mathematics, as if credentials somehow matter in a forum of ideas. Nonetheless, he immediately followed up with middle school errors that revealed his utter incompetency in math. He has either asserted or implied expertise in practically everything while demonstrating abysmal ignorance.

This is why he never gets specific, i.e. he only lashes out with personal insults. He can't defend a single position he holds. Not a single one. The most he will do is flirt with the idea of a vague generality, or tell you what something is not (as if that is some huge revelation).
