Trump, when asked about the lack of preparation or a response by Peter Ducey (Fox) if nobody briefed him about the threat to the Strait of Hormuz or Iran attacking the other Arab nations that have US bases, Trump replied 'No, no one briefed him on that, no one expected Iran to do that'.
If indeed no one told Trump that then every one of his war advisors needs to be fired as those two targets have been the two main targets beyond Israel itself since the first conflicts with Iran arose. You could add Oil assets in various Arab countries if Iran went truly scorched earth.

Rather than attack the Marines on the island, the Iranians would be better off taking out the support ships providing ammo, food, water and medical support.

It is sad that the statement "Trump thinking he is smarter than his Generals, even when it comes to war strategy talks' is not just hyperbole by anti- Trumpers. It is sad that statement is accurate and also very dangerous as we are now seeing.
Trump has actually said this war will not be decided based on laying out strategic goals and accomplishments and instead will be decided on his vibes.
Yes Trump actually has laid out that it will up to him and his vibes only that decide when the US has won and this war ends.
This is the first US declared vibes war and that is sad. But at least Trump is not denying that (yet).
