Im so tired of these panicans saying that if Trump leaves now Iran will just rebuild its military and get a nuke.
That will not happen. This entire attack began with Besset crashing the Iranian economy. That fundamental problem has not been solved.
Prior to the attack Iran was sanctioned, With a currency that was worth less than Zimbabwe but they still had a functioning local economy and they still had some gulf states willing to look the other way as they used their countries to launder money.
If the war ends today Iran is still sancitoned. Their currency is still worth less than Zimbabwe. But they have had 2-3 weeks of almost no economic activity as the internet was shut down and gulf states no longer willing to launder money for them as well as the billions of dollars worth of damage to various infrastructure.
The argument now is that Iran will just go the way of North Korea where the govt cuts all expenses to the people and develops a nuke.
That cant happen in this case. North Korea has two borders. China and a heavily mined border with South Korea. China is friendly one side is mined. Its almost impossible to get arms in sufficient quantities to the people to revolt. Iran is surrounded by US allies in 3 sides. It has lots of coastline adjacent to the gulf states. If the government actually cuts spending to the bone and leaves its population to starve they will revolt and it will not be hard to get them arms.
Thats if we stop now. Note that I dont think we will be stopping now and I still think your going to see multiple ethnic minorities revolt by the end of this with the help of Azerbeijan and Pakistan
