Diesel engines do not require electricity, but they do require a lot of pressure. That makes them incredibly difficult to put in a small car.

They only require electricity to run the starter to start them.

What do you think turns the engine over to start it?
You need to " crank " it over to start it , a glow plug does not turn the engine over.

Correct, the starter usually requires electricity, but in theory does not have to. In a gasoline engine needs constant electricity for the spark plugs.

Starters in theory don't need electric?
well I guess you could turn the engine over by cranking it by hand like they did in the first cars, or push it jump in and put it in gear and " pop " the clutch.

It very well could it IS over $5 a gallon already and going up.
This should be really good for the economy , I am sure truckers will start passing the higher costs on to the consumers soon.
Again it is a fact that IF you bought it it was on a truck some time.

Almost everything in America is transported by diesel powered transportation at one point or another.

Gas is up another almost 2 cents from yesterday.
and 4 .2 cents for Diesel.

Since the #FatFascistFelon began squatting again in our White House, it's been rumored that he will try to subvert or even cancel the 2026 midterm elections. He's even said we can't have an election if there's a war going on, apparently having totally forgotten about Vietnam, which he chickened out of. This war might be the excuse he needs to try to test that theory. Even if it crashes the economy and sends us spiraling into another W-sized recession.
