Another EV fail

Seems that on top of EV's not holding their resale value, and often being more expensive to repair, Consumer Reports has found that they experience 80% more component and system failures than ICE vehicles.

EVs and PHEVs have about 80 percent more problems on average than gas-only cars.

“Many of the problems with EVs and plug-in hybrids are because they are newer designs compared to gas technology, so some kinks still continue to be worked out,” says Jake Fisher, senior director of auto testing at Consumer Reports. “By comparison, hybrids have been around for nearly three decades, and the technology is tried and true.

So once again, the actual content of your source material belies the myopic hyperbole of your thread title.

When will Maga mooks ever learn.

Hybrids are NOT EV's. Most of a hybrid is ICE technology and they generally do not rely on complex electronics to run everything on the vehicle, unlike EV's.

Idiot, you sure as hell require more tech than is needed for a traditional ICE car for a hybrid ..... just not nearly as much for an EV.

And from your article:

Reliable Brands Make Reliable EVs and Hybrids

Many of the hybrids with top reliability are based on already reliable designs. Or, those models use hybrid powertrains that the manufacturers have incrementally improved over the years.

“One major reason why hybrids tend to be more reliable is that they’re mostly made by brands that make reliable cars, such as Honda, Lexus, and Toyota,” says Steven Elek, program leader of auto data analytics at CR.

The same is true when it comes to EVs. Lexus is the third most reliable brand in our 2026 survey, and the automaker’s RZ SVU is the second most reliable EV. Similarly, BMW is the fifth most reliable brand overall in our survey, and its EVs are no exception: The i4, i5, and iX all have average reliability.

So again, you subject title is HYPERBOLE.....meaning it's not a lie, but a bit of an exaggeration.

Yes, that's what the article said.

You do realize that EV's and so-called "hybrids" (overweight ICE vehicles) are different things, right?
When will Maga mooks ever learn.
When will Taichiliberal ever learn to read and comprehend?

You MAGA dimbulbs wailed like banshees against the very concept of a hybrid, making no difference as to a total EV.

Now you're all in for them and the difference is relevant?

And I notice that as usual you leave out/ignore what you don't like:

You're all noise and full it, just like a maga bird.

Didn't you notice that I regularly refer to so-called "hybrids" as "overweight ICE vehicles" (because that's effectively what they are)?
And I notice that as usual you leave out/ignore what you don't like:
Projection.
