Today’s Brent Crude Futures price!

The problem is, and this is part of my theory of the case, is that prior Republicans and Magats know the problems created in one Admin often do not really show until the next admin.

And the public only reacts to how the feel in the moment.

I'm convinced that right governments, going back to Reagan know this which is why they always max debt the country even when they inherit strong economies because they do not want a Dem one to inherit one that then soars.

They want them digging out of a hole so people remember that feeling and think wrongly it is the right who better manage the economy when that is demonstrably untrue
100% right. Dan Issa said the idea was that the Republikkkans spend as much as they can so that the Dems cannot spend on taking care of Americans. If the Dems could do that, the GOP would never win again.

EXACTLY.

the Republicans biggest fear was handing over an evening economy like Clinton handed to Bush.

Citizens will be far more ok with Dems then making a big expenditure on a health care initiative when they are feeling personally well off and like the economy is humming.

It is because they ALWAYS hand the Dems an economy in deep trouble and buried in new debt that they then scream "we can't afford it...we are in deep trouble... we must balance the budget ' when that is not something they do even when they inherit strong economies.

Updated prices, since the leftists who started to track oil prices on a daily basis (only because leftist fake news started programming them to get outraged about it) refuse to post updates whenever the prices come down...

First, I wish to remind you of when I brought up the topic of high gas prices back in 2022 and not one single leftist here had anything to say about the matter at the time (because the Autopen was in office).

Second, I wish to do a little comparison between today's date and today's date four years ago. I will be referencing the very same Kwik Trip gas station that I will simply call 'my neighborhood gas station' (for privacy reasons).
03/24/2022 -- $3.599/gallon ($3.92/gallon Statewide average in Wisconsin)
03/24/2026 -- $3.599/gallon ($3.66/gallon Statewide average in Wisconsin)

As you can see, the price of gas at 'my neighborhood gas station' is the exact same as it was four years ago (in 2022) and the State average is actually $0.26 LOWER than it was four years ago. The difference between then and now is the cause of the price increase.

Back then, the cause was the Autopen's "green energy" initiatives (e.g. the Day 1 pausing of new oil leases). Prices didn't start coming down again until a number of months after the Autopen's "green energy" initiatives were significantly reversed by SCOTUS in 2022 (the end of June), and prices still didn't fall below $3/gallon again at 'my neighborhood gas station' until very late 2023/early 2024, IOW, when it was "election season" once again.

Right now, the cause for high gas prices is fear mongering re: the Strait of Hormuz (it has nothing to do with any of President Trump's energy policies, which are actually causing LOWER gas prices). Gas prices under President Trump (during BOTH of his terms) have consistently ran in the low to mid $2 range at 'my neighborhood gas station'. The only exceptions to this very consistent pricing are 1) COVID, when it dipped down to $1, and 2) the current fear mongering over the Strait of Hormuz, where it has now increased to the mid $3 range. Remember, the mid $3 range (and higher) was NORMAL under the Autopen years, and libtards never complained about this price back then [as my linked thread shows].

So, spare me of your idiocy, FliptheBird... I lived through these years. I've tracked the price of gas at 'my neighborhood gas station' during all of these years. I know what I pay for gas. I know the historical events that affected gas prices during those times. Stop trying to get me to freak out about an exception from the norm right now that WAS THE NORM under the Autopen.
