Maybe lionfish shouldn't quote someone who has no ability to respond. Seems a bit one sided. If she wants to say something to him he should have the ability to read and respond to it. Imho if the situation was bad you would have done a normal forced ignore where both parties can no longer interact.

I personally think Dammo should get rid of allowing for socks. Have said this multiple times in the past. He will not because it will show the truth about the real numbers.

Basically the question I wanted an answer to, is who would be upset if we had all the same reactions, but they all either had no points or all gave positive points. I got my answer... What I was most curious about was: Who thinks it is important that reactions give a negative score if they communicate a negative response?
What I learned was, well that, and that some folks had no idea that points happened at all.
I also was notifying folks in this thread that I would be writing a mod and what it would do.

I said that it is most likely that I would make no changes to the points, but would still make the modification so that folks can ignore reaction notifications from any poster they do not want notifications from after a reaction.
Folks want to be able to get notified of reactions, quotes, etc. but don't want their notification page to be flooded by folks who think "negrep" is important and are going back to ancient posts and negatively reacting to punch those negative numbers higher....
The points are really useless.
If I do make a change, and that is a pretty big if, I would make it so every reaction gave a positive point score so that we would be able to tell which users generate the most interaction.

What part of "It is unlikely that I will change the points system" makes you think I am going to change it? Is that part of the sentence in the room with us today?

Euh because you are talking about changing it. It was already pointed out that you were concerned about the reactions flooding a person's account. Fair enough but there is also a fix in place for the problem with the ignore feature. It honestly seems silly to even be discussing it.
