Of the 155M+ votes cast in 2024, that means only about 47M are Republicans with about the same being Democrats. The rest are all independents who dislike both parties enough to not become members.

Those 61M independent voters are who Democrats need to persuade. Calling them MAGAts and Trumpanzees isn't persuasive.
