Calculators, computers, cell phones, internet and AI, should all be staged in access to students as they progress from grade school thru high school.
They all have a need and role at a certain point but it is important for the youngest kids to first learn the more manual methods before being introduced to the technologies they will need in later life.
So young kids should first learn to manually do times tables, and then eventually be given calculator use and then eventually be given computer use as they move up in grades.
