This is exactly why I think American centrists are little better than MAGAts. NONE of these things can be mitigated by moderate policies. ALL of them require a fairly radical lean to the left because our "center" is nowhere near center from a global perspective.
Hesitancy to make BIG changes exacerbates these problems and they get continually further out of hand. This illustration is as good as I've ever seen to help explain my frustration and dissatisfaction with my nation.
