I am not so sure you were wrong on that. It's hard for me to figure Obama's motivation other than to distract attention from the economy. The Republican's stayed on message and ignored the gay marriage ruling. But they could not keep the theocons quiet on this one. The economy is a winning issue for Republicans. Why they are taking cues from the fever swamps and possible bait from Obama is uncertain.
I don't know about that. I am hearing from a lot of libertarians that are abandoning Rand Paul and others. If nothing less it will reduce enthusiasm and fundraising efforts.

I care about their religious liberties and freedom of inquiry. I don't see any reason to doubt most on the left care about their first amendment rights, as well. Why should that seem like a strange position to take, retard? Why don't you care about it?

I don't have a problem with their 1st Amendment rights, I have a problem with radical Islamics funding a trophy mosque where they killed 3,000 of our fellow Americans. And I think a large chunk of the country agrees with me on both, their freedom to religious expression, and the inappropriateness of building this mosque.
I think what you are trying to do, is manipulate the conversation, to turn this into an issue of intolerance, when it's not... to call people bigots, when they are merely exercising THEIR 1st Amendment rights. I've not protested any mosque except this one. Hell, I even said, let them build the damn thing, and we'll nickname it the Liberal Democrat/ Islamic Jihadist Trophy Mosque at Ground Zero, a monument to liberal stupidity and political correctness run amok! I think the Baptists should rent the building next door and put a big billboard with that on it, right next to the mosque, so everyone will know what the deal is. When it does get built, providing they can find enough radical Muslim construction workers who aren't boycotting the project, religious groups across America should plan trips to NY, so they can hold group prayer vigils in the lobby... we'll get to see how fucking "tolerant" these people are when that happens!

I have been a libertarian since 96. I have not voted for a major party candidate in a general election since. The only major party candidates I have supported are the Paul's, though I am beginning to regret supporting Rand.
I definitely want the Republicans to win some seats as I believe the balance will help to stabilize the market and increase investment.
