Democrats pull into lead for Congressional Election...

That shows a rough idea of the mess they are in. While anything is possible... that is a pretty big hole to climb out of in six weeks.

I read that the latest is showing it could be worse then '94.

The worst thing that could happen to Dems, and especially Obama, is a narrow Dem victory. If it's going to be a trouncing, it may as well be a thorough trouncing.

As a Prez, he desperately needs a chance to reinvent himself & his admin. A GOP victory will give him another shot...

Just like Clinton reinvented himself as a conservative shill for a Republican administration? No thanks. If he goes the Clinton route I'd rather him lose in 2012. Better an real Republican than a fake one.

I rather enjoyed the Clinton route. Congress worked with the Prez, the Prez worked with Congress, they actually made an effort to balance the budget.

Oh - and we enjoyed the best period of prosperity I have seen in my lifetime. That was cool, as well.

A booming economy was bound to happen in the post-soviet environment. The budget was easy to balance because revenues were so high. Clinton basically just sat back and abandoned everything the Democrats has stood for until that point.

This besides the fact that although the 90's boom was a relatively long boom, growth from the 40 to 70's had been greater and steadier on a per year basis, and the fact that practically all of the growth in the 90's went to the upper class. In this decade the middle class has actually taken a step backward, maybe for the first time in American history.

Clinton also paved the way for GW.
