Were I saying you were "stupid" as you did with a certain person running for Senate, you might have a point. Instead I simply corrected your spelling and made a joke about foolish people who don't check their spelling while finger-pointing at the "stupid" people elsewhere. Heck, nobody is ever perfect, talking about the intelligence of others is almost always foolish.

Remember back in the day that Bush's college grades were the huge deal, until we found out that the guy running against him had worse grades while attending the same school?

And BTW - It appears as if somebody may have altered my post just a bit....

That's why I try to avoid the temptation of pointing out spelling errors. I have rarely seen someone do it without making an error themselves, if not in that exact post, soon after.

I do point out when someone simply cannot write coherently, because that signals something else all together.

I'm with you in that I can barely spell myself so I can't really call anyone else out for it. And while I wasn't going to say anything about it (obviously others did) it did seem a little ironic to call someone else dumb and then have a misspelling in the first sentence. However it is not really a big deal.

Well, one time I wrote to somebody on the bush board "oh you're a real freaking genius alright" and I spelled genius wrong. I learned the hard way.

I love to laugh at myself, I do it constantly (more often now that I am a father than I did before then). Unfortunately this time I didn't get to. I clicked and went back to the post, it appears to me as if I spelled it correctly.

Damo haven't you been accused of this before by someone very credible? Oncler or Nigel I am thinking? Or perhaps my memory fails me. I just seem to remember a big brouhaha over this exact thing, and in fact, didn't you have to admit that as a mod, you can edit your posts without it showing "edited" at that time?

I am just curious, I'm not trying to embarrass you but it fascinates me how far you will go in order to admit being wrong. It always has. You just can't do it.

He absolutely HATES the fact I made him look like a spineless simpering little worm for letting ID get away scott free for comments that were CLEARLY in violation of the rules.

That's why my sig line is gone...so he doesn't have to be reminded every day what a coward he is...and now I read that he's a new father.

I wonder how fast I'd get banned if I made comments outright stating that he molested his kids?

Anyone care to speculate?

Ever since then he's had a bug up his butt.

While I hate to mess up the lovefest between the two spellers, if I may return to the original topic?

Many conservatives believe that the 1st amendment does mean a separation of church and state. They maintain that it actually says nothing of the kind. One of our own has said repeatedly that it is just for laws made by congress, and nothing else.

So, while she may be misguided, it doesn't show her as stupid. Being against masturbation....well.......thats another matter.
 
Darla, your comments about the idiots that we elect to office reminded me of a joke someone emailed me recently.

The whole spelling thing is bullshit. This is a conversation. It takes place as the written word, but it is still the equivilent of all of us sitting around a table talking. The spelling matters little. What does matter is getting your point across. Most of us here are able to do that regardless of our inability to spell words correctly on the fly. Use firefox and it will correct your spelling most of the time.
