Send in the Whambulance......

There is one African-American in the current Senate: Illinois Sen. Roland Burris, who was appointed to fill out the rest of Barack Obama's term after he was elected president.

In the new Senate there will be zero.

All three African-American candidates are projected to lose their races: Florida's Kendrick Meek to Marco Rubio, Georgia's Michael Thurmond to Johnny Isakson and South Carolina's Alvin Greene to Jim DeMint. (All three are Democrats.) Burris is retiring, and neither of the contenders to fill his seat is African-American.

Refresh my memory, how many did repubs vote in yesterday?

Your party has a terrible record when it comes to putting African-Americans into Congress.

Good try, but failed

The reduction in the number of blacks and the increase in numbers of republicans has resulted in the average IQ of the senate being reduced to the average american shoe size.
Let trumpets sound, the inmates are taking over the asylum.

seems that whitey got really scared when a man of color was elected pres

Well, this election, but next, they should run as Democrats, since the Republicans aren't going to get anythings accomplished that the Tea Timers want, then they will be voting for the Dems in 2012.
They will if they don't get their shit together. Republicans are presently running on sheer demogoguery. The "Lower Taxes and Less Government" rhetoric from a group of politicians who if put in a room and told they would be executed unless they cut spending, couldn't even cut $50,000 from the budget knowing their life depended on it.

Republicans have painted themselves into a bit of a corner now that they have to be accountable for their rhetoric. To be able to reduce the size government and government spending, in any meaninfgul way, balance the budget and lower taxes will require them to make some real hard decisions about the Three golden pillars (SS, Medicare, Defense). If they don't make those decisions then their talk is irresponsible demogoguery and it will bite them in the ass eventually.

If Republicans continue with their demogoguery and over the next two years focus on undoing Obama's legislative accomplishments and creating special investigators to investigate illicit blow jobs, then the'll have problems in two years.

We'll see. I personally expect to see two more years of partisan gridlock and more anti-incumbant sentiment only now, it will be Republcian congressionals on the hot seat.

Lets see if Republicans can do more now then obstruct, talk empty rhetoric and promise tax cuts we can't afford. Let's see if they can actually govern for a change. God knows that hasn't happened since 1959.
