Bill Maher Is Totally Spooked by Babies Named Mohammed
Funny man Bill Maher, on his show Real Time with Bill Maher, said he's scared of a hot new trend in Britain: naming babies Mohammed. That's the most popular name for a baby boy there now, and Maher is "alarmed."

"Am I a racist to feel alarmed by that?" Maher asks his guests. "Because I am. And it's not because of the race, it's because of the religion. I don't have to apologize, do I, for not wanting the Western world to be taken over by Islam in 300 years?"
 
No, he won't be fired because on the PC hierarchy his concerns about Islam are canceled out by his hatred of Christianity.

To be honest I don't think he should be fired. It was a rhetorical question in light of what amounts to PC hysteria as of late regarding comments from media pundits.

Note how he was clear to say his comments were not race based, but religious based. If a conservative attempted that lame justification there would be multiple posts and threads on the topic...

Nigey would squat on this thread and take up residency if it were about a conservative, or in the case of Juan Williams, worked for a conservative news outlet.

Get real. There are plenty of conservative gas bags that I could't give a shit about. Rush, Bill O, Hannity, Beck. None of those fucks should be fired notwithstanding their idiocy.

Maher, if he was sincere, is an idiot, but to put him on the same footing as Bill Maher is stupid because he ain't a "news analyst" and he don't work for NPR. If he worked for NPR as a news analyst maybe you'd have a fucking point.

When reading posts like this I'm glad I'm an old man. I'll be dead long before religion takes over. As long as there are beautiful women in the world I'd never be able to conform. :D

Look let's get real. If a news journalist from a program where objective journalism is the standard made Maher's comments he should be fired post haste pronto but it's a bit of a different standard when a comedian on a late night ppv cable program says it. If conservatives want to compare their standard for conservative journalism (isn't that an oxymoron?) to comedians like Stewart and Maher well ok....but I wouldn't do that if I was them! LOL

They might be better served trying to compare themselves to real journalist like Cronkite and Moyers. LOL

Maher was not being a comedian when he made his statement. It's how he really sees things. The comparison is to PC speech period. The fact that everyone waxed hysterical when O'reilly said Muslims attaked us on 911- in the context of why people have a problem with a muslim mosque being built where we were attacked. It becomes a fair comparison for the sake of debate.

I dont understand your question about Maher's comment. Being a Jew he doesn't like Muslims and neither does Limbaugh. Limbaugh has been railing against 'brown people' for years and has said things far worse than Maher. I get it... Maher is a liberal and even if he repeats Limbaugh word for word he should be fired and Limbaugh should get a conservative bigot medal.

Your ignorance is the right wing's strength.

Why would you be alarmed by a trend that is happening so slow that it will only come to fruition in 300 years? A lot of things change in a single year. Predicting anything 300 years in the future is going to be junk.

Ever notice that it's the "champions of freedom" (i.e. those who advocated the forcible imposition of "democracy" on Iraq) who are demanding that someone be fired, censured, banned, or otherwise silenced?

i think that he has no liking for any religion

i would not want a muslim 2/3 majority here as i would not want sharia to become the state law along with islam to become the state religion
 
He won't be fired because the people who get to make that decision don't want to fire him.
