San Francisco bans Happy Meals

'Perfectly' and 'legal'...is there any better way to describe the mental illness and bankrupt morals and ethics that is known as 'conservatism"? What I have seen happen in this country that I love, is unethical and harmful has become 'lawful'. Not because it is right, but because someone had the money to buy the political clout to write laws. We see lending practices that fit your 'perfectly' and 'legal' that the fucking mafia calls loan sharking and sends their thugs out to stop.

The most important rule of a free market is you can't get rich by making other people poor. If you do so, then it is no longer a free market, it is a captured market or a subsidized market. It becomes the most destructive form of socialism, corporate welfare; the rich stealing from the poor.

You have obviously realized that your defense of the toy ban, by the Banana Republic of San Francisco, was totally destroyed and have instead now decided to try to piggy back off of your earlier presentation and attempt to spin this in a direction that you hope will garner you some support and thereby aiding you in regaining some credability.

You are suffering from Major Fail and should seek professional help. :palm:

You'll defend men sticking each other in ass with their penises and complain about a plastic toy for tots, and hamburgers....
and you have the balls to label others with mental illness and bankrupt morals????
You're a pathetic asshole, besides being a pinhead.

You're DISMISSED !

Poor Bravo.

He wanted that toy so bad, and now he can't get one when he's cruising Castro Street.

Hey bravo, SHOW me where I 'defend men sticking each other in ass with their penises'...

I will defend a person's right to privacy. Will you? Do you believe two consenting adults of either gender have the right to privacy?

My defense was well stated, responsible and adult like. I can't say the same about some others here. IMO, if any other city council other than SF had done this it would have been supported by many who oppose it... but conservatives have been trained like Pavlov dogs to bloviate whenever San Fransisco is mentioned.

Are you capable of answering one adult question?

Do you want our government to cease inspection and regulation of our food supply?

But you don't believe that an adult has the right to buy something, that IS LEGAL.

I live in San Francisco, the city of, and have lived here for 18 years. I've lived in the Bay Area for 28 years so I think I've earned the right to make a comment about the Board of Supervisors in my City.

Maybe it's because you don't post here much but us regulars get to know each others positions pretty well. And there have been a couple of people on this thread that you continue to try and label conservative based on this position when in reality many of their other views aren't conservative or could be labeled liberal. Not everyone is a robot who see's things as only Republican or Democrat liberal or conservative. Some people actually hold views that vary across the spectrum. Shocking I know.

This has nothing to do with the fact that it came from the Banana Republic of San Francisco; it's just that's the only defense you have left.
Since when is it "adult like" to try and force others to not have access to somethng that is legal?
You keep forgetting that your presentation wasn't only railed against by "conservatives"; but those that claim to be on the left, middle, and everywhere else.

Your straw man argument and presentation that this has something to do with inspections and regulation of our food supply, is stupid.
If you want to spin this into something else, then start another thread.

But you don't believe that an adult has the right to buy something, that IS LEGAL.

I don't? Can adults buy one, one hundred or one thousand Happy Meals for their kids in SF? Is anyone stopping them?

Why can't you answer ONE adult question?

No; you want to change what goes into the happy meal and therefore are trying to make a legal item, illegal with no standing.

Try acting and thinking like an adult and you might find it easier to get answers.

So the legally-elected legislators of a government body shouldn't have the power to ban something?

What is it called? A happy MEAL. What is a MEAL? It is something you EAT. The ONLY difference between a Happy Meal before and after is nothing in the MEAL a child could or should eat...it is a TOY. So I suggest you be careful with your accusations of who is acting and thinking like an adult...you are having a fit over a TOY...:)

My question about inspection and regulation of our food supply is relevant. You want government to stay our of our lives and keep their hands off corporations, does that include no inspection and regulation of our food supply?

Nice try at it's got to be all or nothing; but your strawman is burning.

Since you believe it's the toy, then take me up on my challange of a Kid's meal that includes a tofu burger, apple slices, soy milk, and a toy.
If you can sell as many as McD does, then you will have proven your argument; unless you truly know it's not the toy, but instead it's the fact that kids like hamburgers, fries, and coke!

If the Banana Republic of San Francisco follows through on this, then I'm going to send a suggestion to McD's and tell them to sell the toy for the same price as the Happy Meal and include a burger, fries, and coke. :good4u:

Using the convoluted "logic" of the supporters of the Banana Repulic of San Francisco, it is apparent that Dairy Queen needs to stop selling Ice Cream; because it obvious that the only reason parents take kids to Dairy Queen and buy them a burger, fries, and coke, is because the "hook" is the ice cream.

Is it your position that the SF Board of Supervisors has "no standing" to enact local ordinances?

Thanks for proving your Pavlov pedigree.

Why can't you stay on topic and stop trying to spin this in a different direction.
The kids aren't eating the toy, so this thread has nothing to do with the Government inspection and regulation of our food supply.

I see you are to much of a coward to address the challange; but then you're just unhappy that you never got a Happy Meal toy and now you don't want anyone else getting one.
What a selfish little bastard you are. :palm:
