Oakland is awesome. People are out in the streets now. And the woman who is about to become Mayor was at the last protest as part of a human chain trying to keep officers away from the protestors who were looting. Only in Oakland could a cop hating mayor get elected.

Oakland was called Cokeland in the '80's because of all the drugs and now it is being referred to as Jokeland. Besides his monumental F up on the Oakland A's Jerry Brown was not a bad mayor for eight years. Then the City decides to elect progressive hero Ron Dellums who may have know what to do in Congress but had zero clue on running a City. He was so bad he didn't even bother to run for re-election. Now they've just elected this criminal apologizing police hating woman Jean Quan. Not good.

Oakland sucks compared to Los Angeles

Our cops beat the shit out of Rodney and the savages rioted for a week burning down their own supermarkets, gas stations and such. In Oakland, a Bart cop kills a brother and the riot is already over and nothing is even burning.

it's the same thing my friend said. The guy who killed Oscar Grant got the same amount of time behind bars as Plaxico did bringing a gun into a club and shooting himself.

plaxico burress, a wide reciever for the patriots, brought his privately owned glock in a night club in new york, then accidentally shot himself in the leg with it. bloomberg, wanting to make an example of him, pushed for the max sentence and got burress sentenced to two years with no time for good behavior.
