Is this white power or racism?

no surprise that once again you run away from the thread topic

here it is again and maybe this time you can put on a brave face and discuss the topic:

is this white power or racism? if you are uncomfortable discussing this, a simple yes or no will suffice....

Is it white power or racism, and I can answer with a yes or no?

I don't really have a problem with any of the language; I don't think it's "racist." I think the problems stem from the way a lot of white power groups USE language that is similar.

And it's ludicrous - I mean, completely ludicrous, as in fall-down-laughing kind of ludicrous - to not take into context the experience & intent of different ethnic groups when analyzing the appropriateness of such language.

wow...he finally addresses the thread topic....

thanks for your answer, but the last is a red herring...no one has suggested any such thing...but at least we have you on record as stating the OP is not racist nor is it white power....my hunch though is htat if a group actually formed up using this same language, you would immediately denounce the group....you're in a bind here because you know the cbc uses the same language

Only white males can be legally discriminated against in the government, business, and academia. People feel it's a form of revenge justice or something like that.

White males are the only state approved victims of discrimination and mistreatment.

We need an advocacy group the most.

I'm giving an antedotal story that I found interesting because I know the guy and he is funny as hell. It has nothing to do with yours and Yurt's pissing match.

In Onesie's world, everything is about his pissing match with Yurt.

Obsess much Onesie?

You're full of shite.

Of all of the leftie posters here, I'd wager I bring up racism & racial issues the least. I think they're important, of course, but also think a lot of racism charges are overblown.

And it isn't a red herring; your track record is one of being much, much more concerned about so-called "reverse racism." It's absurd; it's out there & it exists, but good lord....

I'd answer the opening post by saying on the surface I don't think it's racism (how an organization is run can be very different than its stated principles though) but I also don't think it's white power. The fact is America right now is still a majority white and whites pretty much hold the power in this country. There isn't a need for a 'white power' group. History books in our school are pretty much taught from a white/european perspective. And aside from some affirmitive action hires whites aren't losing jobs based on race.

We had a black student union at my high school and I actually attended a few of the meetings to see what it was all about. Part of it focused on black history which wasn't really taught at school and I found nothing wrong with that. Knowledge of self is a good thing. I thought the group did a lot of positive things actually.

One day the school hosted an after school meeting/discussion entitled Is The Black Student Union Racist? I remember the first question asked was could we have a white student union and I remember I facepalmed at the time.
