new TSA security procedures

recently, the TSA has enacted new policies at security checkpoints that utilize the full body x-ray scanners, or what has been termed the 'porno scanner' because it can see through clothing in such detail that you can see the persons genitals in the scanned picture. Because some people have refused to have their naked body scanned and saved as a picture on the government computer system, TSA has implemented an 'opt out' that is incredibly invasive. By opting out, one must subject themselves to a 'pat down' search that includes cupping and squeezing the females breasts and fondling the genital area of both genders. Pilots and flight attendant unions are starting to seriously protest this form of harassment, going so far as to lodge complaints of sexual assault and molestation with the TSA offices, of which those complaints have been completely ignored. The TSA has published a statement about these pat downs stating that no assaults or molestation has occurred and that TSA employees conduct these with the utmost professionalism.

What say you? are you ready to sacrifice your liberty and dignity for a false sense of security by either submitting to a scanned picture of your nude body or to be groped by a TSA flunkie with a GED?

i got the once over last week at Logan. into the see-thru scanner, then pulled aside and given the once over and ball cup, then searched and swabbed my shoes and carry on. Took forever.

now, how do you feel about your mother/wife/daughter being searched like that?
 
It's got to suck just as bad for the person doing the "pat down" (unless they are gay and you are hot I guess). I'll force them to do the "pat down" because after a while TSA will change the procedures to make them less repugnant to the workers.

I don't like the procedures, and I complain and have since Homeland Security came into existence, but if I want to travel by plane I have to comply and it is too damn far to drive from Alaska to where I want to go! Sure I don't like giving up freedom.
