The paramount responsibility of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America during an attack on that same United States of America is to take charge and lead, not follow or sit like a dog turd waiting for his 'team' to get ready? Get ready for WHAT??? If a commercial airliners with 100 Americans on board is speeding at 600 mph towards a building with 1000 Americans inside, WHO would you expect to make the decision to kill those 100 to save 1000? His 'team'? The 2nd graders??? How much distance can an airliner travel while Bush sits like a turd waiting for his 'team' to get ready?

It is mind-boggling how simple minded your understanding of what the responsibilities of Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America are. I've heard people refer to presidents as figureheads, but I never talked to anyone who believed a president SHOULD be one.

Actually, you don't know how close to the truth you are....communications with Washington was far from adequate...then, at the school, in the presidental limo, and even, sadly, in Marine One and Air Force One....they couldn't even get decent tv reception let alone talk to whoever they wanted in Washington....

It was only some short time after the attack....Presidential advisers had to be found, be transported, and be assembled in the PEOC....you people talk like everyone was assembled in their places at 7 am waiting for the attack, with cellphones at the ready and pens and notepads for presidential instructions....your idea of dealing with catastrophe is too Hollywood and not enough of reality based.

Hey asshole...that is not what I said either! How about you actually slow down that knee-jerk reactor of yours and read a response for a change!

I said, as both Bush and Card have said, as well as the press that were in that classroom, that they the press were getting feed about the attacks and that Bush knew that. So in his knowing they were getting information and that his reaction would get broadcast ...including to whoever the enemy was, that he needed to give his people time to act and develope a plan of action. That the moment he walked out of that clasroom their attention would be on him and not where it needed to be which was putting the action plan in motion! That you NEED to make those 6 and 1/2 minutes be some fucking moment of salvation is more telling about what a weenie YOU are then what kind of leader Bush was.

Clearly GWB did not grasp the situation right away, he can be forgiven for that. Its that he did not grasp the situation after say 20 says that bothered me.
