George W. Bush's new book "Decision Points"

You should be criticizing neocons over their traitorous policies of globalization stupidity, Not picking nits because he didn't panic.

I will defend bush on this. Remaining cool is a positive attribute. Get a real criticism beefy. Maybe you should criticize the neocon policies of globalist traitorism. Is that too real a subject for your incisive intellect?
COOL?????? He was shitting his ever lovin pants! Thinking, oh, my gawd, they didn't tell me this could happen on my watch! I am so mad at Dick right now!

I keep asking "what do think he, personally, could have accomplished in that 7 minutes"? What could he personally have done that wasn't being done?

Simple enough question.....you've have 10 years to think it over....now give.

So what did he say to himself? 'Uhh, I got seven minutes and I can't do nutt'n.... uhhh, so I guess I'll just do nutt'n. Uhh. Yup. That's what I'll do. Nutt'n.'
There's nothing like being a president and bush was nothing like a president!

No, it's the facts as we know them. I never said Bush was on live TV -try reading comprehensively. I said the press were receiveing live news feed about the attack and Bush knew it.

Bush also knew his team would be getting all ready. He stated he was angry, but knew that he needed to remain calm. Andy Card later recalled how he chose to inform the president in such away as to basically get that reaction. And sure enough when he walked out of that class room ALL WAS READY.

WOW...so you're saying the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America was getting his intel on the attack from TV??? Holy shit! The paramount responsibility of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America during an attack on that same United States of America is to take charge and lead, not follow or sit like a dog turd waiting for his 'team' to get ready? Get ready for WHAT??? If a commercial airliners with 100 Americans on board is speeding at 600 mph towards a building with 1000 Americans inside, WHO would you expect to make the decision to kill those 100 to save 1000? His 'team'? The 2nd graders??? How much distance can an airliner travel while Bush sits like a turd waiting for his 'team' to get ready?

It is mind-boggling how simple minded your understanding of what the responsibilities of Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America are. I've heard people refer to presidents as figureheads, but I never talked to anyone who believed a president SHOULD be one.

Actually, you don't know how close to the truth you are....communications with Washington was far from adequate...then, at the school, in the presidental limo, and even, sadly, in Marine One and Air Force One....they couldn't even get decent tv reception let alone talk to whoever they wanted in Washington....

It was only some short time after the attack....Presidential advisers had to be found, be transported, and be assembled in the PEOC....you people talk like everyone was assembled in their places at 7 am waiting for the attack, with cellphones at the ready and pens and notepads for presidential instructions....your idea of dealing with catastrophe is too Hollywood and not enough of reality based.

Hey asshole...that is not what I said either! How about you actually slow down that knee-jerk reactor of yours and read a response for a change!

I said, as both Bush and Card have said, as well as the press that were in that classroom, that they the press were getting feed about the attacks and that Bush knew that. So in his knowing they were getting information and that his reaction would get broadcast ...including to whoever the enemy was, that he needed to give his people time to act and develope a plan of action. That the moment he walked out of that clasroom their attention would be on him and not where it needed to be which was putting the action plan in motion! That you NEED to make those 6 and 1/2 minutes be some fucking moment of salvation is more telling about what a weenie YOU are then what kind of leader Bush was.

snark snark... next

people are more effective when limiting their criticism to big important problems.

this has happened in the obama admin too...much intel comes from global 24 hour networks....

if you're going to be consistent, then call it across the board

Dizzying spin, as always.

Who is the thread about again?

LOL

since maineman is too cowardly to address me in political discussion, perhaps you have the courage:

so your position is that is NOT alright for obama's admin to use media to gather intel....?

that is what your stance appears to be

or is your position that obama does NOT use the media as intel....

pick wisely onceler

Why not start a thread about it?

In this thread, it's your usual distraction.

i see....so since i asked you a tough question....deflection and whatnot

seriously....what can't you answer a simple question? why do you have to mumble about starting threads?

i asked a question in this thread that you are incapable of answering because you know it shows you're intellectually dishonest

great job defending desh and maineman onceler....i have to say....your choice of company is telling

I defend anyone who you lie against.

As for "company," bravo, USFreedom, ID...yeah, it can be very telling.

start a thread and proved just one lie onceler....

desh claim of a lie is still open in whatever goes, but of course you won't touch that one, because you know she is wrong

your constant claims of "lie" are really boring....but desh and maineman support you!!!!

good job! :)

My stance is that even if he's telling the truth, it's pathetic. Again, with a nation of 300 million under attack, his main priority is appearing cool to a classroom of kids.

And he could have done that equally as well by politely excusing himself.

Ultimately, though, I think he was fudging it after the fact. Looking at the video, he froze.

Aside from all the umbrage you feel, what do you think that President Bush should have done in those 5 minutes?
Please be very specific; otherwise it's just more ranting.

Ever hear the saying: When you're in a hole, stop digging? It would be wise for you to heed that advise.

You keep showing that you have a belief we elect a king.

Here's your phrase for the day: public servant

Clearly GWB did not grasp the situation right away, he can be forgiven for that. Its that he did not grasp the situation after say 20 says that bothered me.
