We've gotta stand with our North Korean allies

Just as the intent in Palin's statement here was easily determined. It was a misspeak. When other less easily dismissed examples exist why attempt to fit this square peg into a round hole?

Palin: “We're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do,” she said on the Fox News presenter’s nationally syndicated radio show.

“So this speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policies.

“But obviously we gotta stand with our North Korean allies.”

If I accept that this is a misspeak where she meant to say "South Korea"...

"When the host immediately corrected her Mrs Palin repeated: "Er yeah. And we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes."

...why does she try to recover by saying "we're also bound...", which indicates that we're bound to support more than one ally, instead of saying "excuse me, we're bound to stand with our South (emphasis here) Korean allies, yes."

I guess your point is that bush didn't get up on the ladder and pound the nails, because sure as shootin' the WH made the banner.

"...White House staff members made the banner, and it was hung by the U.S. Navy personnel.

According to John Dickerson of Time magazine, the White House later conceded that they actually hung the banner but still insists it had been done at the request of the crew members."
No, my point is that Palin clearly didn't mean "North Korean Allies" after she spent a couple minutes talking about the "evils" of North Korea.

Your argument about "Mission Accomplished" notwithstanding, the thread is about Palin's misspeak, not about Bush's nation building wars.

Oh, my lord - what an insufferable hack you've become.

You're comparing a gaffe like "57 states" to hanging a banner that declared "Mission Accomplished" about 7 years before the war actually ended?

What an idiot.

I thought you had said before that Bush was a "clown"?

Oh, yeah - of course. You adore him. I forgot.

Look at the little koolaid guzzling hack try to make apologies for "mission accomplished."

Go grab a vat of some pumpkin koolaid on this fine Thanksgiving day, bravo. Guzzle it on down....

It's amazing the high level of debate you can miss when you just pop out for a couple of hours.

Nice job, Onceler...

You're chastising the wrong person. I didn't initiate discussion about "mission accomplished" but I'm not going to sit by and watch it being defended by those who did, and are convinced that bush could do no wrong.

I call people hacks when they're hacks. You, on the other hand, defend them immediately if they're hacks, as long as they're on the right.

Because you're a hack.

:)

Why did you repeat the same post? That's weird. You must be dumber than I thought, and that's really saying something.

Except in the post I quoted you may not have mentioned "mission accomplished"... Seriously. I spoke about it only because you did.

Seriously sad. She clearly meant to say South Korea and when interrupted with a correction simply repeated a statement adding "also"...

It's silliness and equivalent to people assuming Obama is Muslim because he said "My Muslim Faith" in that Snuffalupagus interview. Some people can maintain some semblance of reality even when speaking of political opponents. Obama clearly didn't mean he was Muslim, Palin clearly meant to say "South"...

Give it up Damo.
In Chrispies tunnel vision; Obama can do no wrong and Palin can do no right.

I don't really care if she said North or South.

As long as she can see both from her house, I feel safe...

Right, because what somebody says on Saturday Night Live is so real as to mean they really believe that... I'm good with that, you can measure the intelligence of a candidate by what SNL says...

The SNL parody was based on some very real comments, Damo. The sentiments weren't 100% fabricated.

I love how the left use words like "based", "similar", "most"; because it gives them wiggle room, when they're challanged on their assertions.

why are you so upset at your own words? did you not mean those words?

Do I seem upset to you? That's interesting.

I'm just commenting on the weirdness of the repetition. Have at it, though - it seems to suit your style...

You're so freaking clueless.

"The actual intent behind Senator Obama's misstatement is easy to discern without the need to invoke an obscure international organization. He was trying to express the thought that in all the time he had spent on the campaign trail so far in 2007-08, he had visited all (48) of the states in the continental U.S. save for one (i.e., "one left to go," excluding Alaska and Hawaii), but in his weariness he slipped up and started off with "fifty" instead of "forty." (Note the long pause in the video clip between the words "fifty" and "seven.")"

Amazing how you can stretch it to be an apologist for Obama but no one will give the same consideration to Sarah....and no...57 isn't even close to 48 and no one mentioned "continental" any where, Obama said "one left to go" and immediatly said "Alaska and Hawaii"
Thats a lot of fuck ups made trying to get out ONE SIMPLE THOUGHT...

EXACTLY
According to John Dickerson of Time magazine, the White House later conceded that they actually hung the banner but still insists it had been done at the request of the crew members."

Bush didn't have the banner made and didn't order it put up...It was put up by White House personal to reflect that this ship was returning home from the longest deployment of any ship in support of Iraq and Afgan.
THIS SHIPS "MISSION WAS ACCOMPLISHED".....
Bush even mentioned in his speech that " our work was far from done"
How the fuck could he have been any clearer.....but the lies continue even untill this day....

Why? Because she was still speaking, finishing her sentence.

“But obviously we gotta stand" AND "we're also bound by prudence to stand"... DO NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM IMPLY support for more than one ally....you're hallucinating in your bizarre attempt to create that lie ...

You're chastising the wrong person. I didn't initiate discussion about "mission accomplished" but I'm not going to sit by and watch it being defended by those who did, and are convinced that bush could do no wrong.

Rather than make as ass of yourself, it would have been 'prudent' of you the keep your stupidity to yourself...

And why do you say something like that.....is it because you're also a brainless pinhead?

She NEVER made any comment about seeing anything from her house, did she?

May as well have.

"An eye is kept" on Putin in Alaska's airspace.

Actually, that's worse...

"may as well have" ???....I may as well have said you suck very large collie dog dicks, too....WTF are you talking about?

"An eye is kept" on Putin in Alaska's airspace.

Actually, that's worse...
How about you elaborate....

Don't you think we do, as a matter of standard practice, "keep and eye on" every fuckin' plane that enters our airspace, pinhead?

Be it Russian planes or Canadian planes...

and I don't understand the "actually, that's worse" statement....

WHATS worse than what? Try entire, coherent sentences....
