I voted yes for the same reasons...

Backroom deals are done in the "backroom" because those making the deals know if they were to attempt to do so out in the light of day where the average citizen could see what they were doing, the dealmakers be ousted at the next election.

Diplomatic traffic should be private but if they can't even implement a decent security system then they deserve to be exposed.

I voted "yes" for the same reason. Maybe these dunces will now think twice about putting their lame-brained comments on the record, showing the rest of the world how petty and mocking they are.

Nothing is secure anymore and people shouldn't just assume what they say off the record will remain off the record.
 
I voted yes because these 'negotiations' are supposed to be done in our name, on our behalf, and at our behest. we should know every damn thing about them including how many times the diplomat went and peed.

I do not believe this question can be reduced to a simple yes or no. Undoubtedly much of what has been released should have been released but there should be instances, particularly at times of intense negotiation, when secrecy should be respected.
What I found the juiciest was the cry from Hilary that these disclosures threaten lives. What she really meant to say (but it was a secret!!!) was that it would be HER life and career in danger. (no politics intended simply the old whine that those in power will do anything, ANYTHING to hang on to that power. That is Putin and Kim, Obama and Cameron, Ahminadinnertime and the Saudi royals.)

yeah, the last thing we would want is leaders from different countries feeling free to express what they really believe to each other.....much better if they couch their communications in vague innuendo and let the other side guess what they mean.....
