Boner at a Glance?!!

Yeah, and that is what bothers me! They make the laws, they regulate, they deregulate and it isn't just Boehner I have a problem with doing this. Their assets should be in some type of limbo where their policies can not affect their bottom line. This is what happens, politicians are self serving and forget about John Q Public.

That's what blind trusts are.

Pray tell what they could, would, or should invest in, that isn't affected by decisions they make?

Or are they just supposed to not invest and keep their money under their mattress?

Well, they aren't very blind then...or blind enough, and this is what I needed clarification on, just how blind are they? they aren't frozen or obviously Boehner's trust manager would not have been able to make these changes!

Yes, this is the sacrifice you should be willing to make to serve your country in my opinion! Maybe it would get some of them out of office sooner than 20 years. They can not accept gifts or anything that would influence their decisions, making money off stocks, passing laws that help companies keep more of their bottom line if you are a stock holder seems like a gift given to me.

Here's a site that gives an excellent definition of a blind trust. Boehner had most of his money invested in one company, the one he used to work/own. It's no surprise his financial manager told him to diversify which is what he did.

Yeah, but like I said, how long had this been going on and why now?

Why did he sell in 2009? I don't know I'm not his advisor. My guess would be to diversify and for tax reasons.

This is the same thing many Americans, including those in Congress, do so I can't find some conspiracy involved here. Here's the article which Ken was so kind not to link to. It gives an explanation.

Did Obama close his portfolio, seeing as how his decisions affect the entire country??

I sure hope he did! I said it goes for all of them that make decisions affecting their bottom line!

Wait a minute!!

You feel this strongly about one and yet you haven't bothered to check on those within the party you support.

Well, now.
