Marijuana vs aspirin

Think of all the drivers who drive under the influence of prescription drugs! I would worry more about them than those driving on juana!
I never implied they weren't dangerous either, or that I didn't want pot and every other drug legalized. I do. But it's intellectually dishonest to paint a problem as something else

This is actually quite foolish. Stoned people have much slower reaction times which makes them a danger to other drivers and pedestrians, and driving slowly doesn't make you safer if you make yourself an obstacle.

Paranoia is not a positive character feature.

Studies of pilots (using simulators) showed that the impairment can last up to three days after use of the drug, long past when the person has "sobered" and is no longer driving slowly, and other studies of drivers showed that it lasted three days for people who used it rarely but far longer for regular users.

wow that's more paranoid than your birther posts, 3 days lofl

birthers, teabaggers, racist (racism is the biggest reason pot is illegal) etc
you can't talk about anti-big government and be ok with jailing 800,000 for the equivalant of Jaywalking.

I used to live in British Columbia, where a significant portion of the youth smokes pot on a regular basis (pot has been decriminalized in BC); and quite honestly, I have yet to encounter more inept, useless individuals. Marijuana has a purpose (e.g. as an appetite stimulant for cancer patients), but it should not be used on a regular basis.

It is no mystery why Topspin is incapable of coherent thought...

What a narrow mind you have, if you were a woman, you would only need one earring!

Carl Sagan smoked marijuana, as do many productive and brilliant people. There is a young pioneer in neurology who says that marijuana makes him think outside the box and many of his "discoveries" have come as a result of the weed.

Quit believing all the stereotypes, those people you encountered would probably be loser with or without marijuana and they might even be worse off than they are now with the use of the drug.

Many of the studies done on marijuana and mental health issues have been flawed.

There are so many uses for the herb at this time, appetite stimulant is only one of them.

Right, because nobody could actually pay attention to the evidence of their eyes from watching the stoners in HS who can't even speak at a normal rate any longer. You want to ignore actual effect because you like it. I'm good with that and want it legalized, but pretending you are "safer" on the road because you are stoned is just plain sad. It does not make anybody "safer", and it doesn't help your cause to ignore some of the negatives.

Stupid people are stupid, stoned or straight.

What are the affects of a day of drinking or the day after? any studies done in that area, and I bet there are a lot more pilots who fly with hangovers than there are who fly after they are stoned...but since there is such a large lobby for the liquor industry, well, alcohol gets pass, doesn't it. What about pilots who take prescription drugs?

Actually the study I first cited showed that the effects were comparable and was used to make the laws that effect pilots and time limits for drinking before shifts. The effects for alcohol do not last quite as long as the effects of MJ, but the difference is minimal.

Telling me that you are a "safer" driver because you are stoned is like a drunk telling me he is a "better driver" when he has "one or two" in him. It's total garbage. It doesn't help your argument to ignore the very real negatives in your excitement to get it legalized.

I want to see it legalized, but that doesn't mean I have to shut off my brain.

Stupid people are stupid, stoned or straight.

I have personally known guys who were brilliant, 4.0 students from grades 5 through 8. Honor's role in middle school, etc., and then they disappeared in HS and ultimately dropped out. One could argue that while they were clearly intelligent, the lack of resolve and effort which was most likely always there, was bound to lead inevitably to failure, but who knows?

I personally worked hard for my mediocre HS grades. People who wasted tallant and intelligence (at least in certain areas) always pissed me off.

I went to undergrad at about 3.0 and grad school 3.88 buttoning tree and raising to all American college athletes. As state smart people are smart pot or not and morons are morons pot or not.
Nbh
Natural born haters roam here like rugs in trumps closet.
