Top Republican says American citizens assembling peaceably to protest are "mobs"

Eric Cantor, the leader of Republicans in the House, commented on the protests a day after President Barack Obama said they were a symptom of public frustration with the economy and the antics of banks.

"I for one am increasingly concerned about the growing mobs occupying Wall Street and the other cities across the country," Cantor said at a Values Voter Summit of social and evangelical conservatives in Washington.
