One thing leaps out at me from the OP, and its the issue of fraternities. In my opinion, conservative parents generally try and dissuade their students from considering a fraternity or sorority as a viable option upon entering college, seeing as how they are institutions of excess, debauchery, mayhem, and poor academic performance.
