Proof positive that voters prefer lies to the truth.
One of the things that Bush did was to weaken CRA enforcement and the law’s reach which happened more or less from the start of Bush's time in office.

LMAO.... Yeah, elected and re-elected in landslide victories. His leadership smashed Carter's double digit inflation, smashed Carter's double digit unemployment and led us to one of the greatest economic bull market booms this country has seen. Other than a Bush Sr blip in 90/91, 18 years of a bull market. He cut marginal tax rates, eliminated loopholes and deductions, raised the cap gains tax to 40%.
He certainly had his faults and was far from perfect, but calling him a phony is something only a left wing loon would say. I don't see you in that camp, so I will assume you are just visiting for the moment.
Reagan was a LEADER, just as Clinton was. People may disagree with their policies or some of their decisions, but no one doubted their ability as effective leaders.
Feel free to put me in the left-wing loon camp over reagan. I didn't like him during the 80s and nothing I've learned about his administration since then has changed my opinion. I don't think he WAS a leader, just that he ACTED like one. I think people were fooled by his humor and self-deprecation enough to overlook all the negatives. And I can't say it enough, the man sold arms to the enemy and didn't pay the price for it. There is absolutely no justification for that, none.
No, they want to be presented with solutions, not told how bad they suck by a whiner. In that video, what did Carter say? Oh yeah, that he wanted Congress to pass MANDATORY conservation and the ability for voluntary gas rationing. He told people that conservation was the key. He whined about how much we depended on foreign oil, yet he and Congress blocked an expansion of oil production in Alaska. He said the nations 'crisis of confidence' was a far greater problem than energy or inflation. Ignorance like that is why he got crushed. Think about it.... he told the American public that their reaction to the major problems of the day (energy, inflation, unemployment) was a greater problem than the problems themselves.
He told people 'whenever you have a chance, say something good about our country' as if that was going to help solve the problems the country faced. People's confidence will shift quickly and dramatically if there is something to believe IN. That was Carters mistake. He TALKED about having to face the truth and make the tough choices, yet when Volcker initiated the plan to combat inflation, Carter folded like a cheap suit because he thought it would cost him the election. It wasn't until Reagan took office that Volcker was allowed to carry out his plan to kill Carter's runaway inflation, high unemployment and the resulting stagflation.
That's your theory. And anybody with an ounce of common sense knows that twelve years' worth of presidential records weren't sealed because each and every one was a national security issue. Something was being hidden and IMO the something was those presidents' collusion with terrorists.
Ya know...I love this fucking bogey man wingnuts have about Carter. So....ok...no one will ever mistake Carter as being a great President. So fucking what? He wasn't the bumbling incompetent moron who dug this nations into the biggest shithole it's been in since the great depression, like Bush did, nor was he a lying sack of shit war mongering paranoid criminal who disgraced the office like Nixon did. Fuck I'd take Carter in a heartbeat over another W or Nixon cause I seem to remember that when Carter was President kids my age weren't getting shipped off to war to die cause of some lying right wing politician, again, like they did under W and Nixon.
How fucking clueless can these wingnuts get? LOL
That is truly funny. Of course the subprime loans performed better in the 1990's. There was still a firewall up between the investment banks and retail banks (and other lenders). This meant that lenders had to either keep the loans they issued on their own books or make sure they were of the quality (well documented) needed for an investment bank to buy them. It was the repeal of Glass Steagall that removed the firewalls. It allowed the investment banks to merge with the retail side.
If its on there you should be able to link to it.Why are you asking me, it's all there on the Internet? The initial promise of F-14 spare parts was specifically designed to influence the outcome of the 1980 election. The later sales were to provide finance for the Contras in Nicaragua.
If you are referring to Iran, yeah, that would be one of the faults of his administration. Like I stated, he was not perfect. But his policies brought our economy out of the shit hole Carter had it in. Like him or not, there is no denying that.
That's your theory.![]()
He should have been impeached, on several counts.
And your theory is...?
....The Iranians hated Carter because they knew he was weak, and they respected Reagan because they feared him. ...
So he created the ANWR. In 1980, the Congress and President Carter created the nearly 20 million acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), but they set aside 1.5 million acres of ANWR’s northern coastal plain for the purpose of future energy exploration and development. This parcel is known as the “1002” area, named after the section of the Act that set it aside for its energy resources.
I notice that you neglected to mention the two oil crises in 1973 and 1979, and the effects that they had on inflation and living standards, combined with the huge costs from the Vietnam War. I just thought that you thought that you ought to include that in your analysis.
If its on there you should be able to link to it.![]()
But it's your gig, not mine.As can you!
No its my theory on why the Iranians waited until Reagen was inaugurated to release the hostages. With regards to sealing records, your theory is that something was done illegally before Reagan was President, so bring up sealing of Presidential records is an obvious deflection tactic. Or you're just confused. That's your theory on why bush sealed 12 years' worth of presidential records?
Lame, lamer, lamest.
!!! No...He wasn't!!!! He may not have gotten this nation out of W's shithole as quickly as we'd like but their is no mistaking that it was that incompetent bumbling boob Bush who got us into the shithole in the first place. Quit drinking the kool-aid.
