alabama is rethinking its immigration law after an embarassing oops

LMAO... There is no such thing as a "non-immigrant foreigner" ....that is a contradiction of terms. If they are foreign, they ARE an immigrant. Now, they might be legal immigrants or illegal immigrants, but you failed to make this distinction. I want you to work on this, repeat after me... ILLEGAL immigrants are people who entered the country illegally and broke the law.... LEGAL immigrants are here legally and no one has a problem with that. It's very important that we get this through your excessively thick head, because it's making you look like a complete idiot. Alabama has never had a law which prohibits legal immigrants from living or working here, or attending school. They did recently pass a law to combat illegal immigration, which is distinctly different from legal immigration, because you see... someone BROKE THE LAW by coming here illegally. I know this is hard for a retarded person like yourself to comprehend, but if you live in another country and want to move to the United States, we have an immigration process, and if you don't follow that process, and you still come to the United States, you have broken the law. Laws are these things that civilized societies pass, in order to maintain civility and prevent chaos. It's somewhat important that we enforce laws, even though it may seem unfair at times.

I hope this little lesson has helped you to understand, Schitforbrains!

Um... People do come as tourists, even from other nations. So, yes there are definitely non-immigrant foreigners.

In this case, two employees of a Japanese company who are here temporarily in the capacity of their jobs (not immigrants as they don't plan on staying) got caught by this law. Poorly written if this is so.

Expecting common sense from an alabubba jack booted thug is expecting too much. Asking Americans for papers feels Gestapo to me.

Thanks to terrified RightWing Chickenhawks, we are two steps away from jack booted thugs monitoring the borders between states and demanding we provide our "papers" before we can continue.

If doublewide Dixie "immigrated" from Alabubba to Ole Miss the IQ would go up in both places.

Well, if that was what was happening, I could see your point. The thing is, that is NOT what is happening, or what the law allows. You see, in Nazi Germany, they literally DID detain people and ask for their papers, but here, it is only if you are stopped for violation of some law, that you can even be asked for your papers. Do you understand the difference? In one case, the government is allowed to detain you based on how you look or if they think you appear suspicious, in the other case, you have already been detained for violation of the law. These don't even sound remotely similar.

ZOMG!

So, every single day in this great nation of ours, cops in each of our 50 states don't fabricate some infraction to justify pulling motorists over and asking for their papers/searching their cars?

Hey Dumo, try reading the thread, the other retard already pointed this out, and I've already responded to it. We aren't talking in context of foreign visitors, that is not what the idiot who posted this thread was discussing, he was talking about legal immigrants who were working at Mercedes and Honda in Alabama, not TOURISTS! Yes, there are non-immigrant foreigners, but they don't live and work here! If they live here and work here, it is impossible for them to be non-immigrant foreigners. Now, run try and find some obscure obtuse example of rarity, where someone MIGHT be working here, foreign, yet not an immigrant! I'm sure out of 350 million people, you can find one example, I have faith that you can do it, if it means you can post it here and prove me wrong about something!

FUCKTARD!

Well, stupid... every day in America some con artist screws someone out of money, some thief steals something that doesn't belong to them, some pedophile molests a kid, some husband beats his wife, some junkie overdoses on illegal drugs, someone shoots someone with a gun.... these things happen every day in every state. The fact that a cop can BREAK THE LAW and do something the LAW DOESN'T ALLOW them to do, is patently irrelevant to what the LAW says.

Okay, so in your little fucked up world, people who come to America to visit, get jobs in auto assembly plants? Regardless, if you want to play the obtuse game, I can play along.... Technically, those are NOT my words, they were typed by you, which makes them your words, but technically, they aren't your words, they belong to the English language, but technically, they don't belong to the English, I think the origins are Arabic. So regardless of how you want to twist it and spin it, you are still a pathetic dumbass who is out of your league.

Germanic Dix, but nice try.

Why do you ignorant fuckers continue to insist that people hate Mexicans because they wish to enforce the laws?
BECAUSE YOU DON'T ENFORCE THE LAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just victimize some helpless third world immigrants who are only trying to escape poverty to make a better life for themselves....kinda like our ancestors did.

Walk the talk man. Put the mother fuckers who hire illegals in jail and fine the hell out of them. Enforce the god damned law!!!

Again, it is not "impossible" to work here and not be an immigrant. That's plain inane. If you got a contract job in Russia for 2 years, you would not be an "immigrant" to Russia, unless you chose to live there permanently. The contractors in Iraq were American contractors, not "immigrants" to Iraq.

Just say, "Oops, you're right, there can be non-immigrant foreigners" and get it over with. Quit trying to be right when you are so plainly wrong, it just makes you look like an ass.

Again, Rock Head... If they live here and work here, it is impossible for them to be non-immigrant foreigners. As I predicted, you are scrounging up rare and unusual examples to prove me "wrong" but in the context of this conversation, I am not wrong.

Immigrant: a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.
Immigrate: to come to a country of which one is not a native, usually for permanent residence.

Now, I don't know, maybe you and the pinheads have some kind of trophy you are competing for here, and if that's the case, you certainly deserve consideration for it... but in context of the topic, and what the bonehead posted about, the people in question were NOT non-immigrant foreigners. The term simply doesn't apply in this case. They weren't contractors, visitors, or tourists. But Damo, if it makes you feel gratified in some way that you found a loophole and proved me to be incorrect, so be it! This is why you are a pinhead moron, not much different than the liberal pinhead morons, you just think your shit doesn't stink.

Mott... follow me carefully dude... IT IS ILLEGAL TO ENTER THE COUNTRY WITHOUT A PASSPORT OR FOLLOWING IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!

I am sorry about people who are poor, I understand people want a better life, I realize many of our ancestors didn't have to follow immigration laws because there wasn't any back then, but none of this excuses people from following the law now! It is not victimization to expect someone to obey the law, or to hold them accountable if they don't.

Now let's talk about your last point... I am all in favor of strict and harsh punishments for those who knowingly hire illegal workers. However, if that is the only measure you intend to take to combat illegal aliens, you're going to effectively shut down a good chunk of business and commerce, and the business which remains, will be forced to spend all kinds of money to ensure compliance, meaning the price of everything, across the board, will skyrocket. I don't mind paying higher prices if it solves the problem, but I don't think it would solve the problem. What you would then have, is millions of people who are here illegally, and CAN'T earn an income! Do you think the magic welfare fairy is going to care for them, or what? If you are broke and starving with no job, would you think it is better to be that way HERE or in Mexico? I would think, especially if I were already here, that HERE might be best. So they aren't going to leave and go back home, there is nothing there for them. What's your plan then, Mott? Or have you not really thought this through that far?

This is not a simple problem to fix, and certainly not a problem we can fix and please everyone involved. It will take a COMPREHENSIVE plan, one that includes securing the border FIRST, as well as fines for employers, but more importantly, the federal government enforcing existing laws. I'm not even mad at Newt or McCain for suggesting that we have some kind of 'path to citizenship' or 'guest worker' program, if it's part of a COMPREHENSIVE plan. But we're not going to be able to develop such a plan as long as half the country believes the other half just hates brown people, and that's what this is all about.

Hey, Dixie. If I have a contract to work and live in Russia, but am not immigrating because I am returning home I am STILL a non-immigrant foreigner...

If a guy from Japan works here for a couple years it does not make him an immigrant, even if you squint real hard and throw a tantrum about it.

We even have work visas for people that are not immigrating and only temporarily working in the US. Do you know what they are? Non-immigrant foreign workers... I think it is an H2A visa...

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...nnel=889f0b89284a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD

Read about how people can come here to work without immigrating from the government...

And that is just agricultural. We have visas for tech work too, just for non-immigrant foreign workers...

Go here:

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/study_exchange/difference_visa_adrecord.xml

Nonimmigrant visas are issued to foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States on a temporary basis for tourism, business, medical treatment and certain types of temporary work. The type of nonimmigrant visa needed is defined by immigration law, and related to the purpose of the travel. Generally, an individual applies directly to the U.S. consulate or embassy abroad for a tourist (B-2) or business nonimmigrant (B-1) visa. However, foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States to study or work may require certain authorization and documentation prior to applying for a nonimmigrant visa. For an alphabetical listing all of the nonimmigrant visa classifications and specific requirements refer to the USCIS Website. or the U.S. Department of State Website..

Interesting how the US government understands that some people come here to work without immigrating...

BTW - Many foreign actors have this kind of visa.

If they migrate here from another country, they are immigrants. You are finding caveats, which I have already admitted, do exist, but not in the context which this thread topic was written. If you choose to completely ignore the OP and myopically nit pick, like the anal retentive and obtuse ass you are being, then yes... you can find an exception. Do you feel good about yourself? Give yourself a reward, Damo!

Simple but honest question Dixie?
Have you ever been wrong?

FUCKTARD!

God you are fucking stooooopid. People come to the US on work visas all the time. They are ONLY here to work for the period of the visa and then go home. Tens of thousands also come here and go to colleges on student visas, which require you to state that you plan on completing an education and then going the fuck home. Neither of those make you an immigrant. How can you be so fucking dumb? You have been schooled repeatedly on several threads and still you are here. The limits to your knowledge are only exceeded by the depth of your hubris, that allows you to continue to debate shit that you have already been shown to be completely wrong about.

You're absolutely wrong. It will absolutely solve the problem and solve it quickly and I could give a rats ass how it impacts the unethical and immoral pricks businesses who break the law in order to exploit cheap and illegal labor. That is a non-issue. Fuck them! THEIR CRIMINALS!!!! Am I going to worry about how arresting a drug kingpen is going to affect the economy and focus on arresting the mules instead? Fuck no! That makes absolutely no sense at all!

Really what you want is to have your cake and eat it too. What you want is to control the flow of illegal third world immigrants into this country while allowing the good ole boys to exploit them legally for cheap labor while simultaneously undermining the domestic labor market for those who are working hard to have a decent standard of living. Not only is that hypocritical as hell it's fucking immoral too.
