From what I have seen of the story, they think the second dead body was that of the shooter. What has been reported is that this guy walked up to the cop and shot him. The person the cop had stopped is now reportedly not part of the picture. The fact that it happened on the VaTech campus is likely a coincidence. It could be anything from a lunatic to the jealous husband of someone the cop was banging. Until we get more info it is all speculation.

Now for the latest report:

An unidentified Virginia Tech police officer was shot shortly after noon during a traffic stop in the Coliseum parking lot near McComas Hall, a gymnasium on the 2,600-acre campus.

A witness reportedly saw a third party suspect approach the officer, fire a weapon and then flee the scene, Dr. Gene Deisinger Deputy Chief Officer of Virginia Tech Police Department said in a press conference.

The officer later died.

Officials said that they don't believe the suspect was in the vehicle involved in the traffic stop, or related to it in any way.

Witnesses reported to police that the shooter fled on foot toward a parking lot, where a second unidentified victim was found dead.

what guesses do you think i made about the shooter? only thing i said was he must have forgotten that guns are banned on VT campus and that murder was illegal. anything else is your supposition, not mine.
