Perry the bigot.

Corzine did not intentionally destroy the State Economy, and he surely did not get elected on the position that he wanted to destroy the economy. I am not talking about somone who duped the people into voting for him, I am talking about someone who got elected promoting this type of bigotry or hatred. If Corzine ran on a platform that he was going to destroy the economy and then got elected, that would be more akin to what Perry did.

Did you follow any of Perry's campaign while he ran for Governor 10 years ago?

I see that you are really desiring a reply on this part so here goes. Most people I know realize that kids are allowed to pray silently. I am sure that there are several folks on here who remember times when a prayer was said before sporting events and such. Now, unless a school openly defies govt. (and I know some who still do) they cannot. I am sure that there are even some who can remember when a school day was started with the pledge of allegiance and perhaps a word of prayer. Not anymore. I think that is they type of prayer that most people will complain about that has been taken from the public school.

As to Christmas....no more class Christmas parties (for some) which was a big deal for the kids not so many years ago. Also, no Christmas plays that focus on the birth of Christ.

You know, as a very fundamental Christian, I am not at all upset that these things are "taken out" of school. I would rather, and do teach my kids about this stuff at home. But I can certainly understand where these peope are coming from who complain that this stuff is gone. It's easy for me as I am around these folks every day.

OK Jarod, let me help. This is what you want to hear. The vast majority of the people in Texas (and other states surrounding Texas) believe homosexuality is a sin. They believe it is a sin because of the evil Bible. So this message (which I am not sure that Perry used to get elected governor but is now using in desperation) will resonate with these people. So yes, you should be very afraid of the people in Texas and surrounding states.

I do fear their intolerance.

My girlfriend is from Texas and most of her family votes Republican and they don't like Perry. Dude didn't have much of a chance.

You know, all I talk to in Houston claim the same thing and yet, the man gets reelected. Must be the smaller, rural areas that vote for him.

Corzine.... How the hell can ANYBODY even look at that man and not see the sleaze and corruption dripping off of him? I can only surmise that liberals like them as sleazy and corrupt as they come. The more sleazy and corrupt, the better!

Even if they don't like him if the choice is him vs. a Democrat they are going to choose him (within Texas). As far as choosing him among other Republicans running for President? No way.

Thank you for responding leaningright. It's Jarod, he wants someone to say this over and over.

I simply belive that the Constitution prohibits these things from being promoted by public schools. Even without the Constitution, I dont want the Government teaching my kids religen, Thats my job. What I really dont like is that Perry was LYING, kids can pray in school and kids can celebrate Christmas.

He was not lying when you look at who he was talking to and understand what they are talking about when they say these things. This part of my post:

Do they understand the reason behind it? Do they feel that they are still allowed to do this at home, and at church. If they want it in school, will they tolerate other religious expressions? This is what I find offensive is that they want theirs but they don't want others to express theirs. I read the story of the Nativity to my grands, but someday, if they ask, I will tell them what I think of the myth.

What is the name of the Federal Holiday on Dec 25th?

You have no room to talk, Popeye, you aren't School House rock yourself. You live in a glass house, put down the stone.

Just curious Rana....I see you gave me a groan in Post 27....why don't you groan onecell when he does EXACTLY to the same shit to me...for EXACTLY the same reason?
got a little double standard goin' ?......you're a bigot in drag ?....or you're just a partisan ass ?

Mommy mommy how come I always get in trouble and onceler doesnt? do you and daddy love him more than me? it's not fair!

I think we need Yurt to put up ten threads "wondering" if Rana will "say anything about this" everytime Onceler makes a post now.

I think Yurt has classes or something for the other righties on the board. The "you call out this guy but not one of your own" posts are insanely prevalent....

No one is TEACHING your kids religion.....they are just allowing them to practice their religion, just like the Constitution demands.....

and don't piss on my leg and tell me its rainin'.....some (and I stress SOME)schools have prohibiting these and other holiday customs for decades...Christmas, Valentines Day, Halloween, Easter, etc.....even so far as not allowing some kids to wear shirts with patriot pictures on them, like flags or patriotic sayings because it MIGHT....get that, MIGHT offend someone.....they have to give us their rights so as not to 'offend' someone ?....F**k 'em..

You'd have to live under a freakin' rock to not have seen or read about this stuff....

I guess you don't mind the kids being subjected to liberal propaganda in school,..... homosexuality, redistribute wealth, anti-capital punishment, global warming, and a zillion other left wing bullshit.....

Most of them know why. They don't like it. Of course they realize they can observe/pray as they wish at home but because it was done in school when they (a lot of the parents) were in school they view it as being "taken out" of school....which technically it was. And no, most of them don't want other religious expressions either....a true double standard. But this is how most of them feel. Take a look at bravo's post up there. While there is some of that I agree with (especially toward the latter part) there is a lot of it that is emotion based and not reason based.....which does lead to double standards.
