Obama: we have asked Iran to return downed U.S. drone

Holy shit three retards in a row: Jarod, Zippy, and now you.

Reagan had an open agreement with the Soviets to verify facts on the ground. The Obama spied on the Iranians. Look up the definition of "spying" and show me where it says anything about agreements and openness.

Fine...now all you've got to do is prove that the Reagan administration NEVER spied on the Russians and I'll admit you were right.

You don't think that Reagan's administration EVER spied on the Russians? Because if they did, then that's just ONE MORE THING that Obama has in Common with Reagan.

How would you know what I miss?Logic is timeless so I'm happy to use 1700's logic -- you should try some!

And if you choose to ignore history I think that's more your problem than mine.

Really? In the 1700s what was our policy on race? Do you really want to use a 1700s argument today because you think their arguments are valid today? In the 1800s, tell me about our policy regarding Native American peoples. Tell me how that "logic" feels today? Would you let one of those arguments come out of your mouth? In the 80s we had an enemy that was truly dangerous, in fact the released Russian documents from the Cuban crisis shows that they were ordered to launch three times (it malfunctioned) before they got the stand-down order from Moscow. Using what seemed logical in compromise in the 80s to try to argue using current political reality is ridiculous.

When we learn from history, it should be based on the actual history, not an attempt to misapply it to an entirely different situation.

Umm ... logic is logic. It doesn't change. The logic we use today is the same logic Aristotle used. Syllogisms, modus ponens, modus tollens, negation, conjunction, disjunction -- these are the same tools we used in the 1700's. Even symbolic logic and Boolean logic are just different ways of utilizing the same principles. You are correct to point out that arguments change over time. Logic, however, does not.

I never suggested otherwise.

Of course we spied on the Russians, Zippy, for the Cold War years before "Trust but Verify". But your fellow retard Jarod compared Reagan's post Cold War policy with The Obama's current policy.
