How come no one seems to want to discuss the 800 pound gorilla in the room?
Ron Paul believes our own Government played a part in the attacks on 9/11.
Ran Paul is a crazy old man...admittedly, a crazy old man with a few good ideas, but those good ideas are all wrapped up in inside his CRAZY!

Care to provide me with a source for that? I know he's been critical of the 9/11 commission report, but beyond that I haven't heard anything.

Because of what people see as "his incredibly naive Foreign Policy stances". He doesn't do well explaining his stance on foreign policy.
How so?
Saying, "We'll get out of the Middle East" without explaining the why and wherefore just makes him look like he's ignoring very real threats.
Again, it's because of what people perceive as a naive foreign policy. He doesn't do well explaining his stance in the short times he gets during debates. What is sad is that with a ton of information available, most people will never look it up and get their info from talking heads. Left and right, most people who vote are woefully (IMO) undereducated on the candidates and their policies.
I had not considered that, but the preception that he is naive relating to FP is doing him in with the true conservative. I suspect his small physical stature does not help the perception of him as a strong FP leader also.

Ron Paul believes our policies played a part in the attacks on 9/11. I haven't heard him say "our own Government played a part in the attacks on 9/11."

I used to have to spend a lot of time in the car commuting, and I'd listen to some of the talking heads.
Ron Paul has been on Alex Jones discussing the possibility and I heard him once on the Michael Medved show where Michael asked him again and again, but he refused to state for the record that the USA didn't have anything to do with 9/11.
Well, things like abolishing the FED, implementing the gold standard and withdrawing from the UN, NATO, WTO and others bi and multilateral agreements.
Bush was the same hight as Kerry and most voters did nto get to experience his grip.
If you believed that, in part, our own policies pushed some of those people into terrorism in desperate anger would you say that was the same thing as believing that they may have had "something" to do with it even if you believed they were not complicit in it?
This is like saying that crack "robbed" somebody because an addict robbed somebody so they could buy crack. Crack didn't do the act, even if it played a role in the reason for the robbery.
If you asked me to deny that crack had something to do with it, I could not. Crack clearly had something to do with it.

Sorry, but no.
Saying our foreign policies overseas created an attitude in certain people that led to the attacks is one thing...saying our Government was complicit in the attacks is another.

his core beliefs, principles, and policy ideas are in line with that of the constitution and that much individual freedom for people that others can't control scares the shit out of dems and repubs.
