why would the sheriffs department need a armored military vehicle with electronically deployed skid plates?



The Fond du Lac Sheriff's Department says it has become the nation's first law enforcement agency to receive an Oshkosh Corp. military-style tactical vehicle that has ballistic steel and bulletproof windows.

Oshkosh says the truck is designed for congested urban settings and off-road rural environments.

It has a 362-horsepower V-10 engine, can reach speeds up to 75 mph, and can run on flat tires.

The truck can carry nine passengers and has electronically deployed skid plates for additional protection.​


incidentally, the skid plates are considered good armor for things like buried IEDs. are they expecting civilian riots up there?

It won't be as bad as imagined. Many laws/procedures have already been put in place and technology developed and perfected during the war on terror will enable a relatively swift compliance.

that's a commonly accepted 10 percent theory about gun confiscation. you can expect 10% of american gun owners to give up their weapons when you pry them from their cold dead fingers. I figure that will work just as well for a new world order government takeover.

No one will be obliged to give up their guns. It will be a "To get along, you go along" scenario. Only the few contrarians will have their toys confiscated followed by a spanking.

Nonsense. Most gun owners are law abiding citizens. The only problem will be the folks who think they're right and the rest of the world is wrong.
