Mrs. Santorum

Can any liberal here link to the text of Santorum's proposal to outlaw abortion in spite of the physical health of the mother?

He is not so stupid as to do something like that until he is elected, he may be a caveman on social issues but he's wily enough politically to keep his powder dry.

These are the rules.....and Santorum followed them....

III What if, in order to save the life of the mother, independently of her pregnant condition, a surgical intervention or a therapeutic treatment is necessary which would have as an accidental consequence, in no way desired nor intended, the death of the fetus?

"Deliberately We have always used the expression 'direct attempt on the life of an innocent person,' 'direct killing.' Because if, for example, the saving of the life of the future mother, independently of her pregnant condition, should urgently require a surgical act or other therapeutic treatment which would have as an accessory consequence, in no way desired nor intended, but inevitable, the death of the fetus, such an act could no longer be called a direct attempt on an innocent life. Under these conditions the operation can be lawful, like other similar medical interventions - granted always that a good of high worth is concerned, such as life, and that it is not possible to postpone the operation until after the birth of the child, nor to have recourse to other efficacious remedies." Pius XII, Allocution to Large Families, Nov. 26, 1951.

Listen sunshine, I know that you think you have a big gotcha but sorry to deflate your bubble, I posted stuff which refers to that already.

look, I provided the link to look at the original text of the Bible......did you do so?......do you believe I misrepresented the text?.......do you have anything to say about that post based upon the efforts you have engaged in to determine if I am right or wrong?.......or is this just another of your typical posts about something you have no knowledge of.....like Catholic doctors killing their patients......we all know you lie, we all know you lose arguments, but at least have the decency to argue from a position of knowledge rather than from total ignorance.......read, get back to me.......

The Catholic church covered up paedophilia for many years. Yet you find hard to believe that Catholic doctors allowed mothers to die, because they wouldn't abort the baby, is not believable. If we had been having this discussion about kiddy fiddling priests a few years ago I'm sure you would have denied that ever happened as well.

As for the Bible, I finally managed to winkle out of you the admission that you personally believe that homosexuality is no different to bestiality. I doubt anyone on this board will take you seriously after advocating such views apart from ID and Bravo. Anybody care to defend PiMP?

That was a link for you to follow, either you were too stupid or too lazy to follow it!! Which was it?

unlike you, I have read the text.....I don't need some third hand misrepresentation from an agenda carrier....as I said, I merely offered to let you read it for yourself......you pretend you have the right to criticize what you refuse to look at.......do you know how the rest of us view someone who takes that attitude?.......

Yet you find hard to believe that Catholic doctors allowed mothers to die

given the opportunity to provide evidence, you found it difficult as well.....why do you think that might be....

As for the Bible, I finally managed to winkle out of you the admission that you personally believe that homosexuality is no different to bestiality. I doubt anyone on this board will take you seriously after advocating such views apart from ID and Bravo. Anybody care to defend PiMP?
I have stated something which is true......that the Hebrew text of the Bible uses the same word to describe five things, and that the word is only used to describe those five things......I provided a link to irrefutable evidence of that fact.......the liberals who criticize this have unanimously refused to look at that evidence...........I provided that information in response to a debate on what the bible says about homosexual activity......what it says is that is an abomination, as are the other four.....bestiality, incest, idolatry and human sacrifice.......if anyone doesn't take that information "seriously" it's because they are afraid to know the answer to the question "what does the bible say about homosexual activity"?.......

now, that being said.....I have made this same comment consistently, whenever the issue comes up, over the last six+ years......what is it you think you've "wrinkled" out of me, you dimwitted fool.......

Whether or not Karen Santorum had an abortion or medically induced the birth of a non-viable fetus shouldn't matter in the eyes of someone with views as extreme as Santorum, as he is one of a disturbingly large group of politicians who believe that women should not be allowed to abort under any circumstances.

Santorum's even against abortion if there were no hope of the fetus surviving to full term, or even if the woman carrying the fetus risked death doing so.

Karen Santorum would have died if the fetus were not removed, and labor was induced and not halted knowing that the fetus would not survive.

How is this not technically "abortion?"

Remember that Karen Santorum's lifesaving medical intervention is different than the abortions that Santorum wishes to outlaw only in that the woman getting the lifesaving medical intervention was Karen Santorum.

His policies would prevent other women from receiving the care they needed, and leave scores of non-Santorum children motherless.

If that's not hypocrisy, then I don't know what is.

You may be on to something here, PmP. If Eve was made from Adam's rib wouldn't that, genetically speaking, make her a sibling of sorts? Or a partial clone? And if incest was an abomination maybe the "eating of the apple" is a metaphor for sexual activity. Plus, we have to remember both Adam and Eve covered themselves after eating the proverbial "apple".

Could that be the original sin? Polluted blood lines/offspring?

Maybe ID can shed some light on this, as well?

It's not enough to oppose abortion, even to protect the life of the mother or for survivors of rape or incest.

Rick Santorum and all his fellow supporters of "life begins at conception" even oppose the most commonly used forms of birth control.

This includes the top choice, the pill, since birth control can work by preventing implantation of a fertilized egg.

Santorum opposes contraception in general, telling the blog caffeinatedthoughts.com in October, "It's not okay. It's a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be."

Santorum also opposes the predecessor to Roe v. Wade, Griswold v. Connecticut, which established a constitutional right to privacy in 1965.

Griswold
negated a Connecticut state law banning the use of contraception by married couples.

The day before the Iowa caucuses, Santorum told ABC's Jake Tapper, "It is not a constitutional right, the state has the right to pass whatever statues they have."

is this intended to be your clue that you haven't a clue?......if so, it's a successful post.....

“Do we consider a child that may not live long, or may have an abnormality, to be less of a child? Is this less of a human because it is not perfect? Have we reached the point in our society where because perfection is so required of us, that those who are not perfect don’t even deserve the opportunity to live for however long they are ticketed to live in this country? Are we saying we need these kinds of infanticides to weed out those who are not going to survive or those who are not perfect, and that somehow or another we have to have a method available that we only allow perfect children to be born? If that is the argument, I am willing to stand here and have that debate. If that is what you want us to show, I am willing to stand and show that.”

—During a debate on the Senate floor with Hillary Clinton over the partial-birth abortion ban on March 12, 2003

“That would be taking a life, and I believe that any doctor that performs an abortion, I would advocate that any doctor that performs an abortion, should be criminally charged for doing so.”

—During an appearance on Meet the Press, June 2011.

“You know, the U.S. Supreme Court on a recent case said that a man who committed rape could not be killed, could not be subject to the death penalty, yet the child conceived as a result of that rape could be. That to me sounds like a country that doesn’t have its morals correct.”

Okay. So you hate the religion but esteem and respect the practitioners of it, right?

Bravo the deck hand AGNOSTIC, yet.

It's always hilarious to see a non-Catholic know-it-all bloviating about the Church and its rules. Just quit while you're ahead.

Uh, my argument with him was about excommunication, not abortion.

Deck hand ?......Serving in the Navy has nothing to do with this subject....
Agnostic?.......My religious beliefs or lack of them have nothing to do with this subject......
Excommunication?....That has nothing to do with this subject......

If you say YOU are a Catholic, then you should know what your church teaches about childbirth and the health and care of both mother and baby during childbirth....
Try educating yourself and you'll see Santorum has nothing to explain about HIS or HIS WIFE's actions......

If you have a problem with the doctrine, rules, regulations or beliefs of the Catholic Church, join a different church that is more in line with your beliefs rather than
ridiculing the Church.....
You certainly don't like it when others ridicule the Muslims for their beliefs, yet you do the very same thing because of your not understanding what your own church teaches..

Sounds like a man with excellent moral values and respect for life......even an agnostic can agree with every word.....

Is that your point in posting this ?

I didn't call them "whores". I called them "whore sheep". Do you believe Darla and Rana are "sheep"?

Oh please...I can't wait to read where this take us...

Please describe in specific detail what a "whore sheep" are and why it isn't an insult.

Yes, you have ferreted out yet again, chris's hypocrisy.

I have him on ignore, the only post I have made to him directly was about his dog. He is vile and not worth reading in most cases. He has started ANOTHER THREAD on Mrs. Obama. He is a mysogonist and a racists. I find nothing educational in what he posts. The only conservatives worth reading, Damo, leaningright and Superfreak. The rest are lost in their delusions.

Vile bitch.
