Biden’s oops moment in SF: “Giants on their way to Super Bowl”

Vice President Joe Biden had his “oops” moment Wednesday speaking in a 49er-crazed San Francisco when he told a crowd at a city political fundraiser that “the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl.”

Biden spoke at a closed event in the city’s financial District at the Bently Reserve when he made the gaffe, according to a White House pool report released today.

The comment by Biden drew immediate “good-natured” boos from the crowd, according to the report by Josh Richman of the Oakland Tribune, who was the only local print reporter allowed to cover the event.

After suggesting that the Giants were heading to the Super Bowl, Biden quickly recognized the gaffe and and explained he was accustomed to thinking in terms of the San Francisco Giants and their baseball wins. His next reference was to the “49ers on their way” to the Big Game.

Put that boy on the special bus…… Good Gawd what a moron.

Slow news day?

The Giants actually are on their way to the SB. They'll make quick work of the Niners this Sunday. Could be that he's just clarivoyant...

Biden went 0-2 yesterday. He f'd up as a politician saying the wrong team in the wrong City (one of those Southwest Airlines commercials 'wanna get away'). But where he really f'd up is as a sports fan because anyone who follows football knows the 49ers gave the Giants their chance in Week 10 when the 49ers won. This weekend is going to be an *ss whooping! It's going to be something like the 49-3 the Giants laid on the Niners back in '87, but the opposite.

Get ready to eat sh*t Onceler!

Keep dreaming! The only thing that's going to help the Niners is the rain. The G-men are clicking on all cylinders, and Alex isn't ready for his close-up yet.

Over by halftime...

Yeah, the weather is probably going to suck. I don't like that at all.

Alex Smith showed what he is made up last week. Aldon & Justin Smith are going to have a nice Eli sandwich. You are right this game will be over by halftime. But not for the G-Men.

Not so sure about that. He stood toe to toe with the Bree's led Saints and more than held his own.

I don't think this is going to be a blowout by any means. This is going to be a 27-24 type game.

My prediction is that score with the edge going to the 49ers.

Yeah - I was impressed with him last week. He finally played up to his billing, and was truly clutch. I was rooting for him, too, as the Saints would have obliterated the Giants.

I just don't see it 2 weeks in a row. The Giants are as healthy as they have been, and are peaking on both sides of the ball. It's '07 all over again....

The giants are gonna win, they stomped all over the packers, and they're going to stomp on the 49er's and then they're going to win the superbowl.

Yes, I am a giants fan

Cr*p. You're football predictions are about as good as Jarod's political ones. I remember your Penn St over USC in the Rose Bowl prediction. I guess this means my Niners are doomed. F*CK!

Both games will be close, but I'm more intrigued by NY's offense than SF's defense.

Similarly, NE's offense may overpower Baltimore's defense, but the Ravens have a pretty decent offense themselves.
