America the Police state part II.

It's no more transferring responsibility than having the power company supply electricity. Or the cable company. Or the phone company.

I don't want to have to climb on my roof to install a TV antenna any more than I want to burn candles or use smoke signals to order a pizza.

Progress is about having to do less. Lessening man's burden. I don't want to have to hunt for dinner or gather nuts and berries. It's 2012. I'm waiting for the Annunaki.

so it's 'progress' for the federal government to chip away at our rights, since they are making things 'easier' for us?

why did you bring up obamacare right away? did i mention obamacare?

and if you really need to know, it takes away my right to choose as well as the fruits of my own labor.

Do you have a choice of hydro companies?

As for the fruits of your labor consider everyone contributing to make a fruit salad. :)

In Texas, yes and no. One company really has all the 'power' over it's lines, but I can choose to deal with a number of vendors.

I completely disagree. 'society' isn't surrendering or stealing any of my freedoms.

It depends on what you define as your freedoms. One is only as free as the government allows. Surely after the Patriot Act and Rendition and Torture and ......

That's what is so strange. The right wing will bitch and whine and campaign against ObamaCare but when it came to Bush's Patriot Act they all clapped. It appears the right wing are pro-harming people and anti-helping people. More government involvement as to harsher penalties but less government involvement as to social programs. Spend tons of money on war and nothing on medical care. Rummy summed it up perfectly when talking about Iraq saying, "War was an option we could afford." So were basic medical check-ups or a few extra dollars for children's clothing for families on welfare or ........but rather than help people they chose a method that guaranteed harming people and nothing has changed.

While Obama is bringing soldiers home and attempting to cut the military budget while providing medical coverage for citizens the Repubs are still ranting about war, war and war. As Ron Paul, the only half sensible Repub, said, "Troops have been in South Korea since the Korean War and in Japan since the Second World War. Anyone who believes a Repub Government would have withdrawn troops from Iraq at the end of last year as Bush said he would do is delusional. It would have never, ever happened as witnessed by Repubs still going on about Obama having done so.

It's no wonder why people complain about paying taxes. The money goes towards harming people rather than helping. Taxes are not the problem. It's how they're used that is the problem. That's why Obama rammed through ObamaCare. It has to be implemented. It is now a government responsibility. There is no choice but to cut other programs and, hopefully, war will be one of them.

Let the government deal with the debt. That's precisely what it needs. If nothing else it will prevent another lunatic from saying war is an affordable option.

1) do you think that's what the founders intended?
2) if the founders did not intend that, why did it happen?
3) why aren't you doing something about it?

1. No
2. People voted for the wrong politicians
3. I am. I regularly post info exposing the war-mongering, selfish, greedy philosophy of the Republican Party. Things like Rummy saying war was an affordable option while Republicans fight tooth and nail against health care.

As for the Dems maintaining the unjust powers that the Repubs grabbed for the Presidency it would be ludicrous for the Dems to voluntarily divest themselves of such power only to have the Repubs reinstate such power should they be re-elected. If the Repubs could, with the stroke of a pen, institute "programs" that harm citizens such as the Patriot Act and Rendition and Torture and war surely the Dems can institute programs that help citizens such as Medical Care and appoint people who will keep an eye on finanial institutions/businesses whose whole purpose is to financially scam individuals (credit card companies, etc.).

Considering the Conservatives gave tacit approval for Bush to subvert the Constitution the least that can be said is they are disingenuous when they complain about Obama.

so your whole entire premise is that left is right and right is wrong. such a fool.

i guess you missed all my posts about ranting against gitmo, patriot act, patriot act II, indefinite detention, etc.

guess you are two dimensional. too bad. i hoped better for you.

Yet you are still a rightie. Why deny it?
You do support the TP, no? Is there a single elected member of the TP who is a democrat?

Right, don't answer, just deny, another hallmark of a dyed in the wool conservatard.
i'll tell you just like i've told poet and taichi, i've both argued and supported different positions on this board that you ahve, and if you can't bother to remember those and instead want me to post 'evidence' that i've done so, all i'll end up doing is posting the same shit over and over again anytime you idiots get pissed off and call me out on it. no, i'm not going to play your stupid games. remember what you read or put me on ignore.

You call me all left, yet I am avidly opposed to gun controll. How do you square that?

because I don't consider gun control a left or right position. while most lefties are pro gun control, there are also righties that are pro gun control....DY for example. he doesn't feel that citizens should be able to own machine guns, even though he says he is all about the constitution. he's full of shit because of that.

Nice try but no. Funny you bring up the one thing DY is right about, and it doesn't prove your point, it only proves you are a nut.
