What Republicans are embarrased that Newt won a primary?

In the 1988 presidential election, "Jackson captured 6.9 million votes and won 11 contests; seven primaries (Alabama, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and Virginia) and four caucuses (Delaware, Michigan, South Carolina and Vermont)."

:)

No comment here Jarod? Kind of makes your thread (not surprisingly) a major fail.

Looks Like I was wrong... Well, Ill admit that I am embarrassed that Democrats allowed him to win any primaries. Will any Republicans admit that they are embarressed Gingrich won South Carolina?

Also, I dont belive that anyone ever considered Jackson a serious canidate like the Tea Party and other wacks consider Gingrich.

Yes Jarod, people did consider him a serious candidate, I know someone who caucused from him back then in fact. Why are you dismissing Jackson like this?

LOL. Do I think he should be the nominee? No I don't. Am I embarrassed he won a primary? No dude. Jeez.

This was Jackson's Campaign platform in both elections during the 1980's:

creating a Works Progress Administration-style program to rebuild America's infrastructure and provide jobs to all Americans,
re-prioritizing the War on Drugs to focus less on mandatory minimum sentences for drug users (which he views as racially biased) and more on harsher punishments for money-laundering bankers and others who are part of the "supply" end of "supply and demand"
reversing Reaganomics-inspired tax cuts for the richest ten percent of Americans and using the money to finance social welfare programs
cutting the budget of the Department of Defense by as much as fifteen percent over the course of his administration
declaring Apartheid-era South Africa to be a rogue nation
instituting an immediate nuclear freeze and beginning disarmament negotiations with the Soviet Union
supporting family farmers by reviving many of Roosevelt's New Deal–era farm programs
creating a single-payer system of universal health care
ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment
increasing federal funding for lower-level public education and providing free community college to all
applying stricter enforcement of the Voting Rights Ac

Sounds great to me! Where do I sign up? I must be a total whacko!

I do not doubt he had some good ideas, but he also had some radical ideas that the nation was not ready for and his election would have been a disaster.

But then he gained weight and flew around in a plane to talk about climate change, and managed to disprove all of the science on it by being fat and flying. Thus the nickname, the flying chubster.

Don't you read Townhall Jarod?

LOL... yeah it had nothing to do with 'da seas will RISE 4000 feet and swallow us whole, the sky be fallin', we be doomed' ranting and raving (not to mention outright lying)

Which doesn't change the fact that he won primaries, was the Dem Presidential candidate and he is a lunatic left wing blowhard.

Is this really a debate about whether the guy that won the national popular vote is a lunatic left wing blowhard? I mean, it's easy to dismiss a candidate like Walter Mondale or Barry Goldwater as part of the lunatic fringe, but I'm not so sure that you can do the same with Gore. It's a good effort, though, SF.

Damn facts are pesky things.

Al Gore is a lunatic now? I remember how jealous both you and Damo were over the whole "draft al gore" movement in 08, but this has gotten really catty now. A lunatic! Really!

Yeah, now follow the bouncing ball... try to keep up as you read along... Gore's true nature came out AFTER he LOST the election. Dodged that bullet.

Andrew Jackson and Theodore Roosevelt also won the popular vote, and they were nutjobs...

I was more embarrassed when Jarod passed the bar......embarrassed and amazed.

Yes, he is a friggin global warming fear mongering lunatic. When you spout off fear mongering claims that make other fear mongers wince, you are on the fringe.
