And you're a stupid bitch. The problem isn't the DoE....the problem is "teachers". Good ones. There are out there and they need to be paid. I went to a highly accredited high school, with some of the best teachers "teaching'. Parents need to demand higher standards.

Since you guys are so busy beating on eachother about poet's latest racist comment I'll address the opening portion. This isn't about education, this is about students being really stupid. I'm going to take for example the American independence question, even if you don't know the answer you just turn around the question, "in what war did America gain independence?" Answer: The war of independence

We've decided that it's not kids fault when they're dumb, answer sorry guys it sometimes is, and you "no child left behind policies" get you a bunch of stupid kids who are convinced that it's not their fault and that they just need another(15th) chance. accept that and move on.

I don't know how that addresses my "latest racist comment" (as if!). NCLB was the policy instituted by the Bush Administration under Bush's appointed Sec. of Ed., Rod Paige, who was the Superintendent of H.I.S.D, my district. He was an opportunist, back then, and a miscreant and "yes man", later. The policy was a failure. Ultimately, parents are to blame. Instead of "latch key kids", and parents' (of all colors) propensity to allow kids to monitor themselves, you have what we have.
In my household, house work came first, and then homework, and if there was time left over, perhaps television or activities. But I came from a family of educators, who put education paramount and first. Not everyone is so lucky.
