As a cancer survivor myself I can say definitely I was not mocking him at all.

People develop attitudes about certain things from what they are told over the course of their lives. My mother always thought marijuana was "EVIL" because of all the propaganda out there, but when she was in her 60's, she tried a little for relief of her arthritis and it almost literally changed her attitude towards pot overnight.
