It was the state attorney's office, not local authorities

The only thing I got out of the video is that Zimmerman is not the fat fuck he appeared to be in the first picture of him published. That's about the only conclusion I could draw from that. The police did seem to be treating him with kid gloves for someone who had just killed a person but you can't draw any conclusions from that.

And Martin isn't this sweet little kid that to many people are trying to portray him as.

No, actually I think Yurt is being fair minded and objective. There's not a whole lot of hard evidence to evaluate in this case. There's Zimmermans side of the story and a police report that doesn't really tell a whole hell of a lot. Alls we really know for a fact is that Zimmerman provoked a confrontation and a confrontaion did occur in which Trayvon was fatally shot. Other than that, we don't know a hell of a lot of the details or facts.

My concern is that Zimmerman did provoce a confrontation and a death resulted. I think Justice would indicate that he be charged with manslaughter and let a Jury determine his innocence or guilt and not a States Attourney. That was a big mistake by the States Atty to advise this, IMHO. Secondarily, I would like to know if the Stand Your Ground law had a direct affect that contributed directly to this killing or the decision not to file manslaughter charges. If so, that's a law that's broken and needs to be fixed or repealed. Thirdly, I want to know if in any manner at all, were the actions taken by Zimmerman or the police involve racial profiling or discrimination. I feel fairly comfortable that the police are probably not guilty of racial profiling or discrimination based on how the investigation has proceeded to this point.

How did he provoke a confrontation when he lost sight of Martin and was returning to his car, when Martin CONFRONTED him?

If Martin had no idea (which is likely) that Zimmerman was 'neighborhood watch' then from his perspective he was being followed by an older man (whose appearance from the police video may have been intimidating). The obvious problem is that only two people know what happened and one is dead. So we obviously are only going to have Zimmerman's account and then witnesses who saw/heard parts of what occurred. If Martin was edgy because he was being followed and didn't know why, he would have been perfectly within his rights to question Zimmerman about it. In my opinion, he also would have been within his rights to defend himself from what would appear to be a stalker/potential thief etc... If someone was following me like that I would have done the same. Running puts the advantage with the stalker. (which is kind of the reason the 'stand your ground' law came into place)

I'm curioius about something and that is why didn't Martin call 911 and report he was being followed, if that's what he thought?

None. But we do have George Zimmerman's observations of Martin on the 911 call. According to George Zimmerman, Martin was simply walking down the street while being black and wearing a hoodie. That's what led to Zimmerman's suspicions about him and prompted the 911 call and that isn't a reasonable basis to be suspicious of anyone.

Why are you leaving out the increased crime level, in the neighborhood, and that Zimmerman reported that Martin appeared to be looking around, which could be seen as casing out homes.

let me dumb it down for you:

you quote a post and accuse me of name calling. that post did not contain any name calling. it makes no sense for you to quote a post, yet actually be talking about another post in the middle of our debate. there were insults, you made it up because you got upset i called you out for saying it was because he was black...which you denied saying.

that help?

Let me paraphrase:

You quote a post and accuse me of claiming that the crime was solely because Martin was black. That post did not contain any reference to color. It makes no sense for you to quote a post, yet actually be talking about another post in the middle of our debate. There were insults, you made it up because you got upset I called you out for doing the same thing you're accusing me of... which you then spun into the above fantasy.

That help?
