There is a serious trend toward states letting their residents carry concealed weapons with no more background check than you need to carry a concealed nutcracker.

All of this is based on the argument that the more armed law-abiding people we have on our streets, the safer everybody will be.

Under this line of thinking, George Zimmerman’s gated community was safer because Zimmerman was driving around with his legal gun.

You can bet that future Trayvon Martins who go to the store to buy Skittles after dark will seriously consider increasing their own safety by packing heat.

there are two reasons why states are moving towards unlicensed concealed carry and you can blame both of them on anti gun liberals and fraidy cat sheeple.

1) open carry is either not allowed in that state or the mere sight of an openly carried weapon frightens some idiot in to calling 911
2) more states and people are realizing that nobody should have to ask for permission and pay to exercise a right.

I'm curious about the "...with no more background check than you need to carry a concealed nutcracker" part. My state still requires a background check that goes farther than the standard NCIC check you have when you buy.

People are too tense - look at stats on road rage alone.

No - I wouldn't be comfortable with everyone carrying. At all.

You could also look at the stats of people who do carry and how they're quite often the most law abiding citizens. Or look at all the morons on the road and easily agree that not every one of them needs to be on the road to begin with.
