Zimmerman - A Hispanic Registered Democrat

I really don't get you. We're forum posters, not the FL authorities. We're commenting on a current event and since we have the actual words of Zimmerman only, anything we write about Martin is going to be opinion and speculation, based on what's been made public so far.

IMO this case is an unsolved mystery. There's still a big X factor about Martin because he's not alive to tell his side of the story. Not to trivialize but it's like a real-life werewolf game where you start out with little info and work your way to the end based on the words of others. We all look at the info in different ways according to our worldview and/or preconceived notions. Maybe I'm biased because I have a teen-aged boy and I know what he's been taught about stranger danger all his life. Rightly or wrongly, I don't see you and some of the others having much sympathy for a boy who ended up dead yet that's the bottom line for me, Zimmerman overstepped his bounds and Martin died as a result.

what don't you get about:

how does - i don't know exactly what happened = i know more than anyone else?

try answering the question, since YOU brought it up

sympathy? you know i'm tired of your bullshit claims about me and what i say.

first off...i have commented on his sad death....second off...we don't know what happened and you bitch and moan at me because unless i agree with everything you say....i don't care about trayvon.

put your feelings for me in check and stick to the topic.

What I don't get (if you had read carefully) is your comment that it's impossible to offer an opinion, after you wrote a thread inviting opinions.

You started a thread "It was the state attorney's office, not local authorities" and in your first post you wrote "there is so much information and misinformation about this case, perhaps we can use this thread to determine what the facts actually are...if possible."

Then after the liberals here gave opinions which happened to be more favorable to Martin than to Zimmerman, you wrote: "it is impossible to offer an opinion. who knows what happened after the phone call."

You started a thread to discuss the death. Then you continue to make remarks like "we don't know what happened" , "it's impossible to offer an opinion", etc.

No, it's not impossible to offer an opinion. At this point it's impossible to offer much in the way of facts, but we can certainly offer opinions and discuss the death.

have you asked me if have no sympathy? have i said i have no sympathy?

it is impossible to offer an opinion as to the FACTS of what actually occurred. in that, i can say - well - X happened. sure, fine, if that is all you want, then i can give that. i thought you wanted something more concrete. when i know virtually nothing about an incident, i never give an opinion. and here, we all know virtually nothing. we know what occurred during the phone call prior to the altercation, but the issue in this specific case boils down solely to what happened AFTER the 911 call.

for example, given the information we have:

1. zimmerman turned off his phone and stalked martin. martin, obviously bothered by this, as would i, turned around and said - hey, wtf. then zimmerman says fuck you "coon" you're not getting away this time and attacks martin and murders him.

2. zimmerman turned off his phone and stalked martin. martin, obviously bothered by this, as would i, turned around and said - hey, wtf. zimmerman said, what are you doing around here. martin said...just looking, zimmerman said, hey, you should not be here...martin, get's pissed and attacks zimmerman.

3. zimmerman turned off his phone and stalked martin. martin, obviously bothered by this, as would i, turned around and said - hey, wtf. zimmerman said...forget...i'm going back to my car...and martin attacks him for being creepy.

do you get the picture now?

Yes I get what you're saying. My problem with Zimmerman is that we have only his word about how everything went down exactly, and he is naturally (who wouldn't?) going to put his actions in the best light, and martin's in the worst. I'll never be happy that a kid lost his life but if charges were brought and Zimmerman had a trial, it would fill in all those blank spots and the public and the family could get closure. If indeed all the evidence proved that Zimmerman acted in self-defense, his life could proceed free and clear. Now I see a cloud over him that didn't have to be there. That's just my opinion.

christie...you and me are in complete agreement about not being happy with the investigation into martin's death. i've made numerous comments about that....i don't see how the state attorney declined an investigation. all you had was zimmerman's word. my only thought was that they had a witness who fully backed up zimmerman's version. other than that, i can't fathom why a KILLING was not more thoroughly investigated.

you bring a fair point about having a trial and closure. maybe i'm too calloused when it comes to the legal to the system, i view as virtually objective and i view cases as best i can without emotion. maybe that is the wrong way to view things, but sometimes, objectivity is the best method to mete out justice.

i can see how you think i don't care about trayvon because i focus heavily on the facts or lack thereof, but i assure, it is not because i don't care, it is because....well....i will PM you. i'm tired of personal life on this forum.
